I'm sick to the teeth of people trying to use events of 200 years ago to justify their under-achievement, while other groups just get down and get on with it.
I agree. I'm sick to the teeth of people trying to use events of 200 years ago to justify their under-achievement, while other groups just get down and get on with it.
Certain members of Caricom are a good example of holding onto the notion that all the countries problems stem from the white suppression during the times of extensive slavery. What is ignored is the way that ruling parties treat their own nationals, it's disgraceful. A total lack of civil liberties, huge amounts of dishonesty and high levels of corruption. - Not to mention the openly racist views of many high profile government ministers.

If you mean a person of an ethnic minority group, yes it should be BUT when your whole community's existence there is solely as a result of slavery then you are damned from the start.I am not excusing anything, simply offering suggestions as to what is behind it.

This history you speak of being 200 years old, yes but it didn't stop 200 years ago, the racist policies continued up to only 50 years ago.I'm sick to the teeth of people trying to use events of 200 years ago to justify their under-achievement, while other groups just get down and get on with it.
Other groups there do not owe their existence to slavery either.

So nobody under the age of say 60 would have cause for complaints as they weren't born or would be too young to remember. So why are people in their 20s blaming their crap on my grandparents generation? My grandads were miners and factory workers. I'm not. Their lives aren't relevant to my academic, fiscal, or career successes. And they sure as st ain't relevant to the failure in life of any black yoot.

Mark my words, this will eventually unfold (after much beating round the bush and rioting) to be Mr Brown was doing something he shouldn't have been, acted aggressively, officer felt his life was in danger and shot, and he will be cleared of charges and reinstated. Mr Brown will not have been a high school grad innocently walking towards police with his hands in the air, and his mates will have lied to the world protesting his innocence and it unfolded.
In fact people have noted that the words of a witness in the background of a smartphone video recorded immediately after the event do match the report of the officer. This article describes this with the videos themselves, if still at their original youtube locations? Here...http://www.inquisitr.com/1418488/ferguson-michael-...

You do realise that slavery was abolished in December of 1865... That's a long time (149 years to be exact) and in my view, your argument isn't valid, there are plenty of opportunities for those in black communities to become successful and break the cycle. We should probably look at all the under achieving blacks that have their routes in slavery, such as the huge number of attorneys, judges, accountants etc....
I think there is a real problem with the 'community' frowning on achievement. The number of black students entering into the college system is at an all time high, yet college drop out rates are some 30% higher in black male students than white male students.
A lot of the theories for this are the based around the lack of support from their communities that are not familiar with higher education etc. - Whilst this may be valid, where is the drive for success and ambition from the individual? We constantly see excuse after excuse for the failings of this particular group around the world and never place any questions on the individuals involved.

Discrimination against African Americans did not end with slavery though, did it? Carry on another hundred years before things really changed. We should probably look at all the under achieving blacks that have their routes in slavery, such as the huge number of attorneys, judges, accountants etc....

Yes those high-flying Af-Ams have done well, they escaped their communities but they have more willpower, more drive, more intelligence than the average person. The negative hold that these communities, combined with poor prospects for the average man, mean that only the strongest can break free. They were dealt a bad hand FROM THE START and they were held back for centuries, this is an obstacle that other ethnic minorities have not had to overcome. Other ethnic minorities and immigrants made the move largely through their own decision, having the chance to leave the bad behind and start afresh in a new community of likeminded optimists and where the work was.
It will require some real strong leadership from within to change the culture that exists there, but also meaningful prospects have to be available, real work.
You can't rule a town where the majority of people are black by a minority of whites.Resentment will start and the end results will be riots.
The South Africans found that out.Iam surprised that in the U.S.A in some states they have moved on so little.
Happened here in London which became a powderkeg before the riots.

Cannot clap with one hand, needs moderation/adaptation on all sides.
Au contraire. This problem isn't specific to America.
I wonder if you've ever been racially discrimated against to the point it made your life difficult or prevented you from getting on.
My solution was English willow and a middle that absolutely knows the way to long on and midwicket. fk moderation, anybody coming through my door that night or the night after was getting a very rapid introduction to cow corner.
So, how was your life made difficult?

Jim Hoft was awarded the Reed Irvine Accuracy in Media Award in 2013.
Any "news" outlet that is proud of being quoted by these guys, and in that order, has to be taken with a bit of a pinch of salt, especially given the circumstances. dudleybloke said:
I think its funny how in this day and age, when a black man with an Arab sounding name can be president there's still black people who didn't try hard at school blaming their situation on "the man".
This is the problem with forums. That is just incredibly stupid and ignorant of basic statistics. Here, read up:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probability_distribut...

Honestly you shouldn't be commenting until you understand at least some of the words in those links.
Alternatively, you might be very racist and deliberately using misleading arguments I suppose.
Sorry to be blunt but there really is no kinder term than "incredibly stupid". Because it just is.
Interesting reading on statistics but I fail to see what that's got to do with the situation.
And I'm far from stupid.
A stupid person is someone who is too ignorant see the obvious solution to a problem and allows themselves to remain in poverty because they wont use the tools offered them to better themselves under some pretence of "not selling out" or whatever bull the real stupids spout.
