Am I correct in thinking that Article 50 is irreversible regardless of an (unlikely) Labour victory?

Could be the end of UKIP? As you would imagine most will now vote for the Tories seeing as May is Mrs Brexit.
Considering they were always a one trick pony and now have no raison d'etre I would imagine so.

There was a poll somewhere over the weekend that suggested support for Brexit is now 58% across the country. So if Labour did try to go on an anti-Brexit ticket they'd be fighting the LibDems for 42% of the electorate if that poll is accurate.

Corbyn must be cacking himself. His own 'wave of leftist popularity' is about to come crashing down ...

Of course his party could get hammered and he could not resign!

It could be. UKIP have been struggling for direction since the good Mr. Farage accomplished his mission. The Tory party will look to scoop up those votes.

We are so fked now.

Labor will get in obviously.

Then they will either put us back in the EU or get rid of brexit.

Then the EU will literally rape us with "coming back in charges".

I wonder what war they will put us in this time? UK troops in NK/China?

I hope all those shooting me down, telling me a few weeks ago this wouldn't & couldn't happen because FTPA prevents it, will eat a little humble pie

Does anyone know if boundary changes can be brought in for this election, just to rub salt in the wounds ?

This is brilliant because the remoaners have brought it upon themselves - they still don't accept the result, still want a brexit that doesn't actually involve the status quo changing, still make threats - this should well and truly shut them up

Both sides of the brexit argument think they have had a strengthening in numbers post-referendum - this should sort it once and for all because by definition they can't both be right (and yes I accept this is a general election, but it will effectively be a vote on whether you agree with May's vision or want labour who will.................actually does anyone know what labour are saying they would actually do re: Brexit if they won ?)

I would think it is a very complex thing to undo. As the notice under Article 50 was issue and accepted it would require a full unanimous vote by all remaining 27 EU members to reverse it (after the UK Parliament reverses it and the Queen has signed-off).

Yes we would have to reapply and join the queue with Serbia, Albania and Turkey et al. Although it would probably be fast tracked.

I doubt they'd even charge us, I think they'd be happy to have us back in as it benefits them and saves them a st load of endless negotiation and time

I believe not, also it would be electoral suicide for any incumbent party to go to a poll with new boundaries (no time to poll, etc...).

How much is this going to cost the tax payer?

What about the Fixed Parliament Act? Is she making claims she cannot fulfill again?

Haven't gone through all the pages but from the BBC website
"There will be a Commons vote on the proposed election on Wednesday - she will need Parliament's backing to hold a vote before 2020."
That could be a stumbling block to her plans as the diehard Corbynistas might not fancy their world coming to an end. Otoh those wanting to get rid of him will jump at any chance. Who knows what the SNP will do and the LibDems are an irrelevance.

I'm not so sure.
The EU would love UK to stay in or reverse the decision as it would then stamp hard thatvits a great club.

Why would the EU want a country not to change its mind and stay in? Germany would have to pay less France too etc and then the net receivers get more.... only pig headed views would take it that way.
