Someone who does not know how to use a chip and pin AND uses a "cheap" car to pretend not to be loaded is not exactly going to know what life is like for the majority of the people. Not that it matters, the Govt for the last few years have been keen to ensure the rich remain very rich and the poor, well, very poor.
Unless you think that that the PM works alone, without input from others, I fail to see that your interpretation matters.

My understanding is that he is related by marriage to the head of Infosys.

Infosys are a big player in the field of digital id, particularly with regards to healthcare, finance and social credit.

People crying out for a general election clearly don't understand how our system works.

The biggest issue for him, let's face it, is that he's brown. The Tory faithful don't like that, as shown by the previous vote. As a non-Tory voter I hope he does manage to turn it around. He's someone that seems statesmanlike, and seems to have the gravitas required at this time.

Did anyone see the LBC video from the other day?

There's nothing preventing the appointment of a lord to the cabinet(or as PM/leader of the party), other than fear of tabloid press and public opinion.
Interesting, thanks. Yet peers didn't get to vote for the leader of the party...?

The only people bringing this into it seem to be those claiming things about what others think, but really are probably saying much more about what's in their own heads.

Of all the long list of things people hold against him that one doesn't seem to really factor.

I'm a Labour supporter but I don't particularly see why Sunak should call an election now. Personally I think he's got 18 months to steer a path that is relatively close to the manifesto from the last election whilst trying to keep the country's finances afloat. If he can do all that then I think he's just as legitimate a PM as Boris was if he hadn't turned into such a liar.

I think all this stuff about how wealthy he is is a red herring really - Conservative policies have always tended to favour the wealthy, so what does it matter if he's wealthy and continues with policies aligned with Tory values? Yes he's probably very out of touch with the realities of life for most people - but so are most Tory MPs (and most MPs in general). Whether you're worth £7.5m or £750m you're not going to know what it's like to struggle to feed your children.

I want to see what his policies are like, who he picks for his cabinet etc. Of course I probably want things that are very different to those desired by most on here so I'm looking for different things (I don't want to see Suella Braveman or Priti Patel anywhere near the Home Office for example).

They probably understand, but are optimistic. Johnson would likely have screwed the pooch in a matter of weeks and finding 40-odd tories prepared to vote against him wouldn't have been too challenging.

Barring an almighty-balls-up, Sunak can stick it out until 2014

Having heard William Hague on the radio the other day he didn't sound like someone who wants to come back into cabinet.

Surely what the market does for the 1 day that he comes in to power is not very important to most of the U.K. voters? they will be affected by what the markets do over the next 12 months with him at the helm and we do not know that yet…let’s see what he does.

Yes, he’s a big advocate of CBDC. It’s all about govt/bank control, only country rolling it out so far…China.
