You realise they could both be right
Yeah - both sides. That's what Trump always says. He also says "no" when he means "yes" and "would " when he means "wouldn't".

Surprised not to see any mention of Sanders saying that Trump hadn't flatly rebuffed Putin's suggestion that the US give up former Russian ambassador McFaul and Bill Browder for questioning by Russian authorities, and would instead be considering the request with his advisors. McFaul is hated by Putin and is considered a 'person of interest' in the Browder/Magnitsky issue, which of course has been very harmful to Putin's interests.

That a US President would even fleetingly consider handing over its diplomat to a rival country in this way is appalling, especially as McFaul was doing nothing but discharging his official duty as Ambassador to Russia.

Browder of course is a UK national over whom the US has no jurisdiction, so they can go swivel on that one.

Another interesting tidbit that came out in the court filings yesterday was that Butina was arrested because she was considered to be a flight risk, having been observed going to a bank and transferring money to Russia, among other suspicious things. In other words, she was being physically tailed by the FBI.

I wonder how many other people in this mess are being physically followed in real time...?

Edit: Browder has dual US/UK nationality.

Per NYT: In January 2017, two weeks before his inauguration, Trump's intelligence agency chiefs showed him human sources who verified that Putin himself personally ordered the cyber attacks intended to sway the US election in his favour. The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.

Later that day he issued a statement indicating it could have been anyone.

This week Trump spent 90 minutes alone with Putin, and in the following press conference said he accepted Putin's denials that Russia had intruded on his election.

Apparently Trump is now claiming that he told Putin face to face that he holds Putin responsible for meddling in the 2016 election. And gave a very strong message that it can’t happen again.

Of course he did. Totally. And then he pulled out the flaming sword of dobber, mounted his dragon and flew three laps around Helsinki.
Trumps on his "American apology" tour, on CBS news last night

"I would hold him responsible" says the liar in chief but he doesn't want to get into whether Putin was lying.

He didn't say any of this to Putin nor at the press conference, he's trying to massively back track as his staff and GOP have told him he's massively screwed up.

He's also a coward, a typical keyboard warrior. he will never say anything to people's faces but tweet it, or occasionally in interviews with safe, complicit interviewers.

Keeping very quiet. MUeller has interviewed her as she was the gateway to trumps emails (he doesn't use email, like to have someone read them to him, dictate back), she famously offered to delete emails in Air Force one over team trumps meeting with the Russians in trump tower.

She knows a lot. Mueller is trying to get her to testify, or has. Either way, completely dropped off the radar.

Probably wise.

I've just read that Trump was considering getting her back as Chief of Staff if he wins a second term, but she's said she won't go near the White House again.

Again, probably wise.

NY governor has said that he's open to the trump organisation being prosecuted
https://mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1K82...

There's already a lawsuit pending how trump used the organisation funds as his personal account.

Just as he's used funds from his 2020 campaign fund to pay his trump investigation legal fees, but then that seems to be a given. Jill stein is using funds collected for a recount to pay her legal bills

Depressing but not a surprise really

Surprise surprise
You guys also jumped on someone saying that would be the case too. Saying it was crossing a line for his supporters etc. Until the economic crash that should 'probably' happen relatively soon (several years kinda scale) Trump is not likely to go. The daily picking on what he says has just got people expecting it, as so ignoring it. There becomes little differentiation of the really big issues, as people just think it's the usual daily complaining.

Honeypotski.

There are pictures all over the Internet showing her at NRA events, taking selfies with NRA executives, holding guns etc etc.

I bet she never touched a gun in her life until a few days after she arrived in the US. Why should a 25 year girl from Russia land in the US and within a short while suddenly develop a passion for guns and gun rights?
You're speaking as a (probably) British person on this. I know quite a few females into hunting and guns here in peaceful Norway. As a Brit it's still a bit random to see quite a few girl's tinder pics with guns or a shot moose/grouse. It's a lot more common to be ok with guns than the UK in many parts of the world.

What also were the security matters that were discussed that the pentagon and White House have no idea about, yet the Russians say they are ready to go ahead with?

Looking at her background it does indeed seem she has had a genuine interest in guns since childhood. Indeed, it is probably because of that she was recruited by the FSB (rebranded KGB) and given her mission.

Anybody remember the Steele Dossier.....?

It seemed a bit far-fetched at the time but, looking at Trump's behaviour, it looks more and more true with every passing day.
