Scottish Politics / Independence - Vol 11
Discussion
Yep, as predicted.... banging on about independence and rejoining the EU.
More years of grift from the SNP.
A strong mandate for him .... 26,000 votes (of which around 8,000 weren't first choice) puts him in power.
I seem to recall that the SNP were shouting that Truss and Sunak had no mandate and must call a general election on the basis that they were only voted in by a small number of party members. Obviously as principled politicians, the SNP must surely now call assembly elections.

Forbes and Regan pushing for another vote and saying it's not democratic?
That's the party's MO isn't it?

None of the candidates managed to secure 50 per cent or more of the vote in the first round, the threshold for victory, with Ms Regan eliminated. Mr Yousaf then beat Ms Forbes by 52.1 per cent to 47.9 per cent in the second round.
52:48, that's good enough to be completely decisive!Edited by Mammasaid on Monday 27th March 14:23

It is a preference vote system remember. The current cabal preferred the votes for Useless.
Stand back, because when the st hits the fan in the expected quantity and velocity, anyone in any proximity is going to get a good smattering.
If Useless wasn't useless, he'd do the dirty and hang Sturgeon & Murrell out to dry. He won't though, because he's useless, and he'll slowly sink as the ensuing incompetent cover ups bring the whole shebang down around his ears.

Excellent - he's appointed on a narrow second preference vote majority.
Let the years of SNP internecine warfare commence.
This is their Iain Duncan Smith moment on steroids.
More identity politics and more grift.
Every time we see Harvey, Slater, Grier et al on the TV its a reminder of Humza keep them in power.
Just wait until cheap cans of soft drinks have doubled in price.
He will set their cause back a generation. He will make 2014 a once in a lifetime vote as promised. How ironic.

For those who don't want independence under the SNP clownshoes, this is a great result.Let the years of SNP internecine warfare commence.
The votes cast tomorrow could be interesting to see how much support he has among the MSPs.

Doubt it. Expect the SNP and Greens to line up behind him. MSPs and MPs were much more in favour of him compared to the membership or SNP voters. The votes cast tomorrow could be interesting to see how much support he has among the MSPs.
Will be interesting to see what his relationship with the Westminster group will be like.
