AR is clearly a high-class lady of impeccable taste & discernment, not a low-class type who would leave school with nothing but an illegitimate baby & a need for council assistance. I salute her undeniable quality.
Whilst I recognise the sarcasm in your post, I have to ask... Illegitimate? What is this, Ireland in the 1860s? Rusty Old-Banger said:

And despite all that managed to rise to be deputy leader of the Labour Party. Not too shabby all in all.

Not sure anyone did but this thread seems to have moved in a weird direction over the last few days!
To try to bring it back on topic, the issue seems to be Rayner and/or her brother possibly failed to tell the truth about their living arrangements so to me the questions are 1) is that accusation true and 2) if it is why were one or both of them dishonest? If the accusations are true - and the reason was to avoid a financial liability of some description - I don't think that will be a good look for Angela....
Worse than that, I imagine Labour's failure to close down the story will encourage other journalists looking into everyone else to find another story. Blair would have killed this story on day one and deterred journalists from looking. To try to bring it back on topic, the issue seems to be Rayner and/or her brother possibly failed to tell the truth about their living arrangements so to me the questions are 1) is that accusation true and 2) if it is why were one or both of them dishonest? I suspect that Starmer has let this story run because it's the only way he can be rid of her as his deputy. The danger is that he may get someone even more embedded in Momentum as a replacement. Biggy Stardust said:
Getting knocked up behind the bike sheds is in some places considered to be less salubrious than the more traditional white wedding & subsequent honeymoon shenanigans. YMMV
I imagine you are a socks on, light off, missionary type of guy who does the gentlemanly things of pulling the nightie down when finished? You do come across as a complete ahole (probably without trying too hard)

How much influence do you think Starmer has with the likes of the Mail and the Express? Do you think he can ‘kill’ a story like this?I see the Momentum bogeyman has woken up…

Pure talent; nothing to do with the unions liking a mouthy rent-a-gob with a bitter attitude against anyone who has achieved anything through hard work.
Who exactly has the bitter attitude You seem a confused little camper to me. On the one hand, you appear to be suggesting someone who was born into poverty, cared for an illiterate mother and raised a child who is registered blind & still managed to rise to deputy leader of the Labour party is somehow seen by trade unions as not having got anywhere through hard work.
I suppose by extension, the £3k she may or may have not have gained is mere small potatoes to you when set against the other side of the equation, Sunak & Lord Ashcroft, whose families have benefitted from avoiding millions in tax by virtue of their non dom status. Are you suffering from a head injury?

Do hope you're not trivialising head injury. That'd be a pretty low thing to do.You seem a confused little camper to me. Mainly due to her bitter 'class war' attitude. Labour and the unions like that sort of thing. Not too shabby all in all.
