antisematic
As always. Dodge the issue. Scream antisemitism. And this is from someone who squeals like crazy whenever racism accusations come up for actual racism. But agreeing with the international communities view on Israel holding people without charge is now antisematic…When you have to revert to the argument that ‘other people do it too’ is another poor attempt to divert and defend the indefensible.
we now have US governors saying ‘they will go after you and your families’ if you try to legally hold us to account.

The people who weaponise antisemitism are the lowest of the low and many on here who can’t refute facts so just throw accusations about.. wonder where they get it from… The Israelis spokesmen’s have been using it for the last 75 years to justify an illegal occupation …

First, it is US Senators not State Governors. Second, your quote is not a quote from the memo. Finally, the "going after your family" is banning them from the US. Oh by the way, ten US Senators have no authority to ban anyone on the planet from the US.we now have US governors saying ‘they will go after you and your families’ if you try to legally hold us to account.

When you go from words matter and micro-aggressions to semantics and from ignoring what many countries do to suddenly holding one country to a much higher standard it is impossible to come to any other conclusion. we now have US governors saying ‘they will go after you and your families’ if you try to legally hold us to account.

Imagine the fuss if Israel or the UK and US had banned a Gaza medic from another country because of a bloc wide prohibition and deported him and yet not a peep from you lot when Germany and France do it. Luckily the UK provides Abu Sitta with a safe haven. The sooner you realise your antisemitic echo chamber is not telling you the whole truth the better.
If the terms of the Egypt/Qatar ceasefire are reasonable, and there's nothing to suggest they are not, it might force Netanyahu to at least not raze Raffa. If the Americans approve (and we will follow) it will be both internal and external pressure. If it includes the release of some/most/all of those detained on both sides, he might have to capitulate. He's got to come out with something.

No one is doing that. That’s just repeating the Zionist propaganda that claims every criticism is antisemitism. Show me another equivalent situation. The fact that people are not picking up every news story you can come across doesn’t prove your claim.

I can't see how anyone can pick a side in this. The history is long and murky. The actions from both sides are contemptible.
Supporting a "side" comes across a tad ignorant to the realities of the situation.
I agree with the sentiment, this thread is so polarised it has become a pointless read, for those wanting to see actual fact rather than opinions I recommended this site:Supporting a "side" comes across a tad ignorant to the realities of the situation.

And an interesting quote from above, which I didn’t see on any news broadcasts last night:https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/isra...
Ceasefire negotiations: Hamas altered and approved the text of the Egyptian-proposed ceasefire deal. Israeli officials said the altered text is “far from Israel’s essential demands.”
Please actually read the memo and educate yourself, rather than listening to fizz47's assinine take on it. They are not "going after" anyone's family. The memo says they will ban them from the US, which they have no authority to do.
I suppose you could argue they are threatening to ban them, but others might see not being in the US as a blessing.

Why would the US go after members and their families of the International Criminal Court? It doesn't make any sense. Fight the case if you don't believe in it, but going after and threatening families?
Is there any precedent to this from any other country in the past?
The US? It's a letter from 12 senators. "Go after"? They threaten sanctions and a ban from entering the US which they do not have the power to do anyway. Is there any precedent to this from any other country in the past?
The letter does point out the ICC is threatening Israel but doing nothing about many real crimes.

None so blind as those that do not want to see.
Is criticising Israeli policy antisemitic? No.
Is being "anti-Zionist" antisemitic? Not necessarily. But if you want to dismantle Israel, a flawed democratic state, and replace it with a Hamas Islamist Theocracy, one has to wonder about your motives... A hippy anarchist who doesn't believe in the existence of any nation state and wants to dismantle them all isn't being racist. Someone who wants to dismantle the one Jewish state and expel or murder its population and set up another Arab state in its place almost certainly is.
Is referring to "Zionists" "having lived in this country for a very long time", in a way that doesn't make any sense in the "accurate political sense", but makes perfect sense as a dog whistle for Jews, racist? Yes.
But instead of facing the cancer of racism in their midst, far too many in the pro-Palestinian movement accuse Jews of weaponising antisemitism instead, and thus the cancer spreads.
