I can't see China helping out NK if it does all kick off because that'd mean war with the US and it just wouldn't be in their interests even if they do have a defense pact (wouldn't be the first time a pact has been broken). I'd imagine the build up is try and stop the inevitable refugee flow if it does all kick off. Heres hoping anyway...

I think everyone is talking about China kicking NK's ass back down.

Sounds more than modest to me, China won't allow the US to invade NK, not a chance.

It's getting a bit 1914ish. One lot puts troops on alert just in case, the other lot does the same because the first lot have.....

Well the US reckon by 2016 they will be capable, maybe sooner. They have a 3 stage rocket system thats works ( the hardest part ) just need a smallish Nuke to bolt onto it and job done.

China seem to be amassing troops and weapons at a rather fast pace in the North.

We'll see.

I would like to see your reliable link / source for this.
China wont send in troops and weapons.
It will be aerial.
Missiles, bombers or fighters.
Pyongyang is 20 minutes away by fast jet.

There has been no additional fighter planes et al taking off from our local airport, where there are over 100 fast jets permanently stationed.
There are numerous other airplanes of differing roles, as well as helecopters, whichI only see once a month may be.

On a busy day, I can see may be 200 fighters fly in from "some where else",(I am on East coast China) then during the day, they will all go "for a play" some where.

Pretty amazing to see them taking off in pairs along the runway, for over an hour, at say less than a minute intervals.

Damn, I envy them guys.

Its like playschool - gold stars for good behavior, making a nice finger painting of the dear leader ... that sort of thing.

Even the Chinese can see that a US supported SK government ruling NK is better than the current situation. They may have wanted to retain the current balance in NK to ensure they have a buffer between them and the US friendly SK but I cannot see China going to NK's defense in anyway - why would they? Any communist ties were broken a long time ago and China has a lot to lose if they back NK - with the inevitable UN sanctions that would follow.

A SK administered North would be good for the SK and China - think of all that cheap labour!

Any military movements in China will probably be to prevent 23 million refugees surging across the border.

Yep, it's important to remember that China regularly returns any North Korean refugees it finds. Even if they have just escaped from death camps.

China will do what benefits China, not what would help North, or South Korea.

Ha, thanks for that, but it was an attempt at humour, sadly not picked up, but as you point out a bit outdated now.

I.e

Who is the Prime minister of China.

Yes

What

No Who

Who What

Yes

What

Who is the Prime Minister?

Who

Yes Who

No, Who is it

Who is Who?

What?

The Prime Minister, Who is the Prime Minister

Yes...

etc.. etc... I'm sure we can involve Ping if we try hard enough

The local nutters in their repective regions, in each case silently backed by a superpower. They are never told to stop misbehaving because their "masters" find them convenient.
Ozzie, are you trying to break the world record for the most ill informed and stupid post of all time? If you are, well done.
Haha, the only thing wrong with that post is 'silently'.
