Welsh hire van, since when did the van know it was welsh
In other incidents, were the vans of English nationality

The rental company will have copies of the driving licence, NI number, and the usual forms of ID to hire a vehicle, I'm pretty sure this would be useful in any investigation.

I'm reasonably sure the "man wot dunit", has probably handed over that information anyway. This doesn't strike me as a plan where the perpetrator is intending to hide who he is. I would not think he thought much beyond "Hire a van, mow some people down. That'll show em. Yeah."The rental company will have copies of the driving licence, NI number, and the usual forms of ID to hire a vehicle, I'm pretty sure this would be useful in any investigation.

As well as many others who are at the forefront of most other terror attack threads. Conspicuously absent in words or condemnation. For those thinking this is inevitable because of the Manchester and London attacks, I fear you are right. Many nutters will jump to a cause. The thoughts and retribution are no different to those in earlier terror attacks. Killing innocent people is always going to disenfranchise people. And some are stupid and nutty enough to channel the anger into killing other innocent people.

Are the police going to smash down doors, arrest the family, friends, colleagues and neighbours of this guy down in Wales, keep them all in custody for 72 hours, and then quietly release them all without charges connected to the incident, I wonder....?
Is he 'already known to the police', etc?Vaud said:
When do you give an NI number to hire a vehicle?
Since the paper counterpart of the licence was removed, it is now needed for the online driving licence check for endorsements.https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

Is he 'already known to the police', etc?Someone said it was likely someone that's had too many Stella's. I'm guessing he's been sat in the sun all day drinking Strongbow actually.

No one actually checks that though. Ive rented loads since this came in and mentioned the code to people at the desk - they always say 'huh?'
Depends what you are renting. For instance I'm renting a v8 Mustang next month*, they specifically said on the phone that without the code, no car.
- (at the request of a 16yo for Prom. Personally I thought he should buy a Vespa and go on that himself...apparently I'm not cool.).

Is he 'already known to the police', etc?I am sure they will be interviewing them however as there may be information regarding right wing propaganda they would like to look at....as they do with Islamic extreme propaganda. (vastly more available from around the world as well know).
I think you can be assured that this chap has not been travelling to know terrorist hot spot etc....
Your attempt to "victimise and single out as racist" the actions of the police when faced with possible "cells" vrs a "nutter" is a very weak attempt to claim the race/Islamophobia card.
I find the gathering of a lynch mob (that the police struggled to contain) a worrying factor.
