Can ( patently unjust/ corrupt, etc) presidential pardons be overturned?
No. The pardon power is very wide. A self pardon could be challenged.
Apparently trump didn't sign them until 11:30 pm last night. There's reports they can be overturned at 12:00 noon today if the recipients haven't been told they have them, hence trump was cutting it fine.
A system so open to abuse & so openly abused needs a re-think.

Claudia Conway posted two video compilations tonight that appear to show her mother, Kellyanne Conway, verbally abusing her.

"What the fk is wrong with you?"

"You can't get coronavirus from the president."

"You're lucky your mother is pro-life."
https://t.co/UxT1e2j1cw?amp=1

The video compilation continues in a second Tik Tok post, which Claudia says shows her mother "hitting" her. It is not clear what is happening at that moment in the video, though.

In a series of later Tik Tok posts, Claudia says she is not posting these videos "to bring down" or harm her mother. But says she is "extremely scared" about what will happen now that she has shared them.

I only listened to a little bit of the first clip so wasn't entirely sure what I was listening to, but even just by the tone of voice that adult is a horrendous person. :-/

Rachel Maddow “Let’s never do these four years again,”

Maddow spent the entire first block of her show listing off every embarrassment, criminal act, impeachment, criminal liability, civil liability, financial crisis, and major scandal that Donald Trump has faced over the past four years.

Rachel Maddow then said, “Was it worth it?” Making clear that these four years have gone as poorly for Trump as they have for America, she asked him, “Glad you did it? Wish you could take it back? We do.”

"The worse President in American history with the rap sheet to prove it"

1. It is possible that a pardon could be granted in secret. The law on this is not clear.

2. To change the system you would need to change the Constitution, and that is very hard to do because you need super majorities in Congress AND amongst all fifty States of the Union.

A new report from Politico paints an even more disturbing picture. It turns out that Trump has been placing right-wing operatives in career positions throughout the federal government.

By converting political appointees to permanent civil service employees, Trump and his henchmen have put in place the means to undermine Biden’s presidency starting on Day One.

The “burrowing” of right-wing ideologues by Trump has one specific goal: to position Republicans to take power in 2024. They believe if they can sabotage Biden they will be able to win the presidency back in four years.

“A higher-than-usual number of Trump administration political appointees — some with highly partisan backgrounds — are currently ‘burrowing’ into career positions throughout the federal government, moving from appointed positions into powerful career civil service roles, which come with job protections that will make it difficult for Biden to fire them.

trump signed an executive order that allowed him to fill sensitive positions without proper oversight. The effect of this was “to allow political appointees circumvent the usual merit-based application process for career civil service jobs.”

Do you actually have to accept guilt to be pardoned?

Or can you just be pardoned without being part of the process?

Was just wondering if Bannon has had to accept his guilt.

He's the worst thing to happen to US and UK politics since WW 2.

Do US civil servants get to choose where they work! On day 1 just reassign them "Hey guys, we've got a new job for you, you're all going to run the new government offices in Utqiaġvik. Never heard of it? It's in Alaska, our most northern city, be proud of that fellas, collect your thermals on the way out"smile
Or rescind the EO and make them apply properly

A Presidential pardon imputes guilt (per SCOTUS). Accepting a pardon involves accepting the imputation of guilt.

I did not know until recently that the owner of the Goya tinned goods company was a Trump nutcase. I used to buy Goya stuff when I lived overseas and had to rely on mostly rubbish American goods for my supplies. The quality of many US supermarket goods is very low.

Well that's something at least.

Hopefully that's enough to mean those who take advice from him here give him a very wide berth.

What's that mean for Bannon and the others charged in the same case?

Can he still be convicted but with no sentence? Can he be forced to give evidence?
