If in some nightmare scenario he does get re-elected who is going to stop him? Has anyone tried who has the power to do so? Those prosecuting him will become his enemy and have their power removed, the GOP will actively facilitate him, they are already blocking key appointments so his lackeys can be parachuted in.

The Courts will stop him. Even his most tame judge won’t delay his trial, so what chance does he have to get all the judges to do his bidding?

The military will stop him. They follow the Constitution not the President.

Congress will stop him. Trump won’t be able to get his lackeys in power due to Congress not voting for them. He only has a handful of supporters in Congress and they won’t be able to do anything.

Judge Cannon is delaying the stolen classified docs trial, doing her best to back it into the Georgia trial so that can't take place, by putting in further delays that will have knock ons.

She hasn't changed her trial date yet but says she will decide on 1 March. Meanwhile the filings she requested by both sides has been put back and she's declared she then needs over two months for her to read into it before she decides on section 4 of CIPA, just how much of the stolen classified docs the DOJ have to give trump as requested in discovery and if any of it can be redacted.

trumps filed for everything possible, and was fighting for his whole team to see it, including volunteers, knowing full well that would delay anything as they got security clearance. Cannon is exactly doing as much as she can for trump, is playing games and trying not to make it obvious, but it was to every legal expecrt and the DOJ.

Edit: Fanni Willis is fighting back, saying with the delays trump could be on trial on TV on election day, and leading upto it, so people can see his fraud before heading out to vote.

Samuel Miele, the former campaign fundraiser for George Santos, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and faces a maximum of 20 years in prison. This is the man who pretended to be an aide of McCarthy to fool donors to raise money for Santos.

Last month Santos campaign treasurer Nancy Marks also pled guilty

McCarthy has had an ethics complaint filed against him by Gaetz for elbowing Tim Burchett as he walked past him. Burchett was one who voted against McCarthy to out him

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4309550-gaetz-c...

I'm guessing Gaetz didn't like McCsrthy dragging up Gaetz's ethics investigation over his sex trafficking again.

A reporter was talking to Burchett at the time, saw everything including the chase and argument after

There's reports that trump is trying to settle his NY fraud trial, but I can't see what he has to offer in exchange. He's facing trump org being shut down, he can't run any of the businesses he has registered in NY (and he has over 300) and massive fines which I doubt he's got the money available to pay.

He's already posted he refused to settle earlier because he'd done no wrong.

A sign that Don Jnr didn't help? biggrin

Edit: one of trumps witnesses yesterday was shut down by the Judge as he tried to claim Doral golf course was undervalued and Kise was trying to suggest that as some were undervalued it somehow offset those that were heavily overvalued.

Engoron asked Kise, “Is it your position that if a financial statement has two assets, one is overvalued and one of which is undervalued, that if it balances out, there’s no materiality?”
Kise argued, "It is highly, extraordinarily relevant if there are assets that are undervalued."

Desperation now trying to offset to wrong valuations from different times against each other?

trumps reposted and amplified a post on TS calling for the citizens arrest of AG James and Judge Engoran. Theres many pointing out this is trump incitement to violence against them, such as...

Jack Smith has filed for the gag order to be reinstated after threats to his family from trump. Theres a three judge appeal court sitting next week over trumps gag order because he appealed. trumps trying to claim as presedential candidate he can say what he likes.

Mark Meadows is trying for a two month delay in his Georgia case as he still tries to get it moved to Federal court. He's lost already but is appealing.

The courts part has been answered. He’d do it and then whatever he did would be tied up in years of appeals before it can be undone.

Military. Tuberville is blocking hundreds of key appointments. He’s been doing this most of the year and there’s still no resolution. Yes, he’s pissing off fellow Republicans, but he’s dragging it out u der the banner of some sort of abortion row. Whatever it is, there’s a feeling the military is being hamstrung. I wonder what he’d do if Trump, who he is massively in favour of were to be elected?

Congress. How will they stop him? They fall over and do his bidding whenever he asks.

A judge in Michigan has ruled that the Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson does not have the authority to enforce the eligibility of candidates under the Insurrection Clause of the amendment.

It's almost as if the constitution doesn't count for trump...and there's never been a more clearcut case under the 14th amendment, surely.

If the Michigan Secretary of State does not have the authority, then who does? Elections are handled at state level so it has to be someone in the state legislature, the governor or the state supreme court.

Which one?

And again, people on here keep assuring me that the law is the law and it won’t be applied differently for anyone. Yet here we are again.

I’d really like to see how cgt2 feels about these recent rulings where Trump is clearly be treated favourably. This is why I’m considering it as a possibility that the orange idiot might get re-elected. I’m also waiting to see some progress on trial dates for the two critical criminal cases. I still do not believe that these will start this side of the election, let alone a verdict be reached.

Also coming up next year that will knock on for trump is Steve Bannon’s criminal trial in Manhattan in May. This is for his We Build the Wall fraud. He is charged with 6 felony counts of money laundering, conspiracy, and a scheme to defraud with a possible 5 to 15 years in jail.

Fanni Willis has got punchy over Cannons delays that will impact her trial, saying she now expects the Fulton County Racketeering trial to take place in late 2024, finishing in early 2025, i.e. over the elction period, clearly pointing out to Annon she's not playing her games, so Cannon either has to now go early to make sure it's over - and you can bet team trump are pushing her to delay until after the election

Who released those proffer video's?
It wasn't the prosecution because AG Willis has filed an emergency motion for a protective order in which it claims that a defense attorney for Harrison Floyd sent an email saying "It was Harrison Floyd's team." Floyd's attorney then followed up saying that was a typo.

Willis says it's "clearly intended to intimidate witnesses," and that its indirect communication with codefendants about the facts of the case, in violation of conditions of release.
