He was a typical yank redneck with a love of weapons helped by the fact they were easily available.

He went nuts/had a beef so instead of punching someone and hopefully getting punched back he killed loads of people cos his country allowed him to.

I'm sure the investigation into why? cost a lottery win. Shame as my wisdom would have been charged at a grand and I'd be taking the P big time.

Yeah it's all faded into the past now. Nothing has changed.

That's a great way to destroy your own business. If i were in the market for a hotel place in LV, They would now be bottom of the list.

They're not seeking any money, they are responding to a lawsuit filed against them by the victims of the attack (who are also suing LiveNation, the event organisers) in an attempt to establish that they are not liable.

It might make a bad headline but it doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. I don't see why there should be an assumption of liability on the hotel.

Sounds like they're having to do it to protect themselves and are playing the law game as the victims are suing them!

Why are the victims suing the hotel or the organisers anyway? How have they been negligent?

Not handing out guns to everyone so they could protect themselves.

Surely the president of the USA is the one that should be sued for this

First rule of suing is to target an entity with money.

Maybe something to do with letting someone bring 5000 guns into a hotel room and no one saying anything?

Granted its Nevada which I understand to have very relaxed laws, but surely there has to be rules on this?

Then again; "America", so probably not...

How would they know? I’ve never had any of bags x rayed or searhed when entering a hotel in the US. In fact the only place in the world I have is in Delhi and I had a Kukri in my bag, the very polite man asked if I minded if he kept my sword in the hotel safe until we departed...

The headline sounds bad but it seems it’s just a legal move to cover their arses. I dread to think the numbers people will be coming up with in their suits against MGM and Livenation.

No idea what "Then again; "America", so probably not..." means - do you think if you went into a hotel in the UK with a duffel bag full of guns someone would scan your bag or something?

True, but still not sure how that's the hotel's problem. You could extend that to any business really. Man walks into a supermarket and shoots up the place - supermarket is liable because it didn't have metal detectors at the entrance? Guns are everywhere in the States, you can't expect businesses to ensure every one of their patrons isn't packing.

Agree. Didn’t really think. All I could think of as to why they would sue.

Perhaps in the US they should ensure no guns are brought into hotels and casinos.

That’s proabbly a bit ‘someone think of the children’ though.

It's a valid question, that's worth some consideration - even in the US.
Edit: I got the quote wrong and was referring to being able to get a whole arsenal into a hotel room
