It certainly doesn't.

That statement - it's odd that the hospital made no mention of the child previously being given a bed while being given oxygen, or the BBC article from yesterday was fake news.
Possible, or with a fast moving story and people sometimes get the facts wrong like they did the "assault" on Hancock's assistant.

I've no doubt Labour will be spinning this one like a top to try and gain from it and I'm not defending it.

There are two issue here though, the poor child, and I think the hospitals statement hopefully clears that one up, and Johnson's reaction to a story.

Whatever the Labour spin machine might be up to has no bearing on the display we saw yesterday from our Prime Minister.
Whatever way Johnson reacted is overshadowed by using a child to get votes.

Very surprised that this "sick kid dumped on floor" story is still running this morning, and conservative central office haven't managed to expose it as the blatant fake news it is.

I suppose part of the problem is that it actually suits the hospital management to let the public think the photo was real and not staged by the parents because they think it will get them more money to let it keep rolling. Hence them not really making a proper truthful statement about it either.
Not sure.

I am in the mood these days to see a few proofs.
How about looking at the piece you have linked it gives you all the proof you need..look at the wheels on the BED next to the boy who it is claimed in the report is in a treatment room without one... NHS beds are unusual as many have horizontal wheels to avoid damaging the walls. clearly seen in the picture of the boy on the floor...
Weird that Dr Yvette Oade, Chief Medical Officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust said “We are extremely sorry that there were only chairs available in the treatment room, and no bed." then.

Why I said nowadays I am more intending to need more proofs however the words in the article indicate that the lad on the floor is real and that comes form the hospital staff, are there articles from the hospital saying fake? Not being antagonistic with the fake, I have not seen any suggesting it is fake but plenty of Tory oriented bots parroting exactly the same comment, there is one doing the rounds, same paragraph but I expect it is poorly quoted making it look like the twitter handles are the ones writing it and passing it as their own. The spin is absolutely there.

The item next to him I expect you have picked up on from social media or a personal spot? What else has wheels in a hospital? Just for comparison. Unfortunately I have had to make a few visits to A+E and hospital general admittance in recent years and apart from the bins and a few chairs, there are a lot of trollies with kit on, filing cabinets, phones and so on.

Anyhoo, did you miss this?

Still being pushed this morning on PH and by the usual suspects.

It's all about how bad Johnson reacts or doesn't to a photo on a phone.
The fact the photo on the phone came about as a stage managed event and the whole story is a faked one to support Corbyn and Labour is irrelevant, that shocking notion gives you an idea of the thinking behind the people still perpetuating the lie
Why do you think the hospital apologised?

LGI bosses apologise after four-year-old boy with pneumonia forced to sleep on floor

"We are extremely sorry that there were only chairs available, and no bed".

And none of that excuses Johnson for his reaction.

Crack on with defending it though.
Pointing out that a stage managed event designed to benefit Corbyn and Labour is not in any way defending Johnson.

Even the BBC commented on the fact that the mother (who ironically was responsible for the photo!) had asked that the photo not be used for politicising the event, even though the plea was made many hours after the photo had been used.

Crack on complaining about it though, I can understand why you feel the need to do so.
This is nothing to do with the boy nor the NHS. To suggest it was 'stage managed to benefit Corbyn' is irrelevant. In any case it was just a journo looking for a story in all probability, and he got one. It is all about Johnson behaving poorly when under a wee bit of pressure. It's something any politician should be able to put to bed, so to speak. It was a simple enough problem, but he blew it big time.

It's a shame that the child and mother have been used for political purposes against their wishes, but it's done now and Johnson has shown himself inept at dealing with a spontaneous incident.

Is it a skill a pm should have, you know, this thinking quickly without a prepared retort? I'd say yes, but I am not, at least on PH, in a majority.

Johnson cracked.
What absolute nonsense, without the despicable use of a child in a political point scoring exercise the story wouldn't exist.

Give it a few years and a couple of hard winters and most will be gone. The ones who are left will have changed user names and claimed to have never voted for Brexit in the first place.

No, Friday will be a gloat fest, but the test is the next few years. That will be where people need to look. Getting Boris back is a likely, exit will happen, Brexit will not go away.

Boris reckons 100 days to get a lot into action and I expect that is when the cracks set in.

Keeping my cake bacon hat ready though.

I wonder, I expect Boris will now avoid Andrew Neil and any capable interviewer for the rest of his life?

Do you send a picture of your child on the floor of a hospital to the press three days before an election if you do not want it to be used for political purposes?

Funny how they didn’t do the scene where the PM stands up to the Trump style president.

I know you really like Boris but are you ascribing superhuman powers of foresight to him as well as his political genius ?

How can you get so much wrong?

I've made my position on BJ known in quite a number of posts, yet you make such an ill judged statement with nothing to back it up.

Classic Stroker.

What are you going to do when this is all over ?

Looking forward to seeing what your next invective filled target is going to be as you continue to hand it to the metro elites from the back of the HiLux smile

It isn’t difficult.

You are appearing to claim that his appallingly bad handling of yesterday’s events are not the primary issue and are glossing over them as a result of the politicising of the child’s alleged situation.

I know you aren’t the most adroit and that any time you are challenged it’s a resort to bluster or ignoring the answer but come on. The “show me where Boris has said NI won’t be a problem” incident was a a classic example hehe

Maybe his powers of seeing through things are so acute he can see your GT3 rofl

It’s remarkable.

I don’t doubt they are both at it but it’s a damming reflection on our times and in how dumbed down the nation has become.

Just very briefly going back to the little lad in hospital, the main problem was the lack of a physical bed, rather than the time he was seen in, the staffing levels and the quality of care?

Still Boris could have easily said it is appualing bla bla but we are knocking down this old heap of a hospital and giving leeds 2 new world class hospitals, one dedicated for children to eliminate the problems that this old infrastructure has to Cope with. (I think they genuinely are building them too)

But no, he pinched a journalist's phone and caused a ststorm as usual because he is unable to think on the go and ends up doing or saying something stupid, which other parties and the left wing media use as a stick to beat him with.

Plonked.
