Mrs Four Seasons has just shown me the new John Lewis logo on their website.

They might just as well have used the Rainbow Flag with Black Lives Matter printed across the across the top.
Yes, it starts with a redesigned logo, and it ends with forced bumming of all customers by a big gay black man(*1). Its PC gone mad and "you couldn't make it up" all rolled into one. /sarcasmFFS

It's pride something event this week isn't it?
Most people won't care, and the pink pounders will be happy. Just business?
Remember JL sell a lot of designrr branded fabrics, wall paper and so on. And some gay people, but not all, are very style and fashion focused.
It's the month where all big corporations pretend to care about such matters. Well, at least in parts of the world where it will give them good PR.Most people won't care, and the pink pounders will be happy. Just business?

Went into an Aldi today, and they had the National Lottery at every till.
Snazzy litup machine with lottery/euro (no scratchcards). That's going to be one less reason for people to visit their local convenience stores if all these supermarkets roll it out.
They could sponsor the weekly draws and have the winning balls fired at you at the speed of light...Snazzy litup machine with lottery/euro (no scratchcards). That's going to be one less reason for people to visit their local convenience stores if all these supermarkets roll it out.

The Asda local to me has it at all the self service tills, you choose what you want to buy on the touch screen and it prints the ticket out with your receipt when you pay, been that way for yearsSnazzy litup machine with lottery/euro (no scratchcards). Does anyone go out to their local shop to buy a ticket? I'd always assumed you went to your local shop to buy a few food/booze items and bought a ticket because it was at the till. If I only wanted a lottery ticket (and nothing else) I'd just download the app.Snazzy litup machine with lottery/euro (no scratchcards). Didn't realize. Thought it was just the kiosk at the back at all supermarkets.Looked the Aldi one up, rolling out to all 900 stores and every till. It's very well done from a branding perspective, very dominant and lit up. I don't do it, so didn't realize it had doubled to £2!

That's regulars like yourself, I imagine it's a big impulse buy and numbers rise when the papers hype up the rollover amounts. Its yet another reason to not shop in person anymore, every time I go into a convenience store it seems like the person in front of you at the till always has some sort of issue or other. They can never seem to just buy something and fk off like I do, they either pull out a load of lottery tickets that need scanning or they produce brightly coloured cards of some sort asking to put a fivah on this or a tenna on that. Or worst of all they are trying to return an amazon package. All the ten people behind them want is a pint of milk of 4 cans of spesh.
ASDA home delivery is all anyone really needs, turned up at mine earlier this evening with all the food and booze I could want, the delivery driver had all the potential problems of parking tickets, speeding fines or accidents, not me. Amazon for everything else.

There wasn't an app until recently because the lottery was gambling and Play & Apple didn't allow it. Now that National Lottery have changed to over 18s only (since April(?)) they can have an app. There was an older app where you could check results.
You have been able to buy tickets online for years, 15 or more I reckon. And since you can use your phone to access their site (which looks like any app anyway) it doesn't matter what Apple and Play allowed. Edited by snuffy on Tuesday 8th June 08:22
Gap to close all 81 stores in UK and Ireland
BBC said:
US fashion giant Gap has confirmed it plans to close all its 81 stores in the UK and Ireland and go online-only.
The firm said it would close all its stores "in a phased manner" between the end of August and the end of September.
This includes 19 stores that were already scheduled to close in July as their leases were expiring.
The company has not disclosed how many employees the closures will affect, but will shortly start a consultation process with the staff.
The firm said it was "not exiting the UK market" and would continue to offer a web-based store when all the shops had closed.
