The water level at Victoria Falls was lower in 1996 and the World Bank rainfall stats that the rainfall trend line in Zambia, that feeds the Victoria Falls, has been flat sibce 1901.

But it must be a nice jolly for TV crews to go on Safari in Africa.

Cheers,

Tony
Honest Q (mainly so I can answer if asked) - what's caused the low water at the falls if the trend line is flat? Has there been some anomaly or does it always get low at this time of the year?
It's seasonal, happens every year. Just not as low as 1996.
I thank you, kind Sir!

they will reappear in a few days and continue as though nothing has happened with the same ad-homs and attrition loops.

Or expect a new user name to take up the charge (purely coincidentally, of course)
Y'know, that really does cover 'them' in 2 sentences.
Nothing much has happened, Greta’s landed safely which was pretty much a certainty and is heading off to the conference. I expect you will be suitably riled by her speech when it happens.

Those people that matter, (experts and politicians) are largely but not unanimously on the same page and the flat earth deniers have little argument and no authority, so it is fun watching you guys frittering you’re time away criticising a girl who will likely be around until 2090 or possibly beyond whilst you lot will not even be a distant memory.

Her crossing of course is hardly remarkable because younger lads and lasses have circumnavigated the globe single handed, which puts into perspective your lives.

However that is not Greta’s aim and it appears by your continued need to try and belittle her that she has successfully gotten under your respective skins.

I’ve just flown back from my daughter’s the USA btw, so trust you will be suitably aggrieved that I would have the temerity to fly.

If you have some meaningful evidence that our scientists are wrong and such experts, in your opinion are wrong I’m sure you could post such in the climate thread.

There's pages of it in this thread posted by turbobloke, supported by more links than you can shake a stick at. Try reading them instead of repeatedly playing your "she's just a 16 year old GIRL" record.

I did and have. It seems you’ve been sucked into his world. His arguments have been disemboweled at length. That’s fine by me. Nobody that maters cares what you think. As far as climate science goes Turbobloke and his followers are a complete irrelevance and there is nothing he or you can do about it. Elsewhere the consensus for action is already happening despite you.

I am however impressed that you never have need of an accountant, doctor, car mechanic, optician, solicitor or any other expert in your life as you know better. Your family must be really impressed by your immense expertise in everything.

So the woman who flew cross the Atlantic so she could sail Greta back across says:

"She's not telling anyone how to travel, she's not telling anyone how to live their life."

Really? Doesn’t seem that way to me.

Well, about fifteen to twenty years of failed predictions all generated by flawed computer models is meaningful enough to me that the science isn't settled, in fact it's far from being fully understood.

Personally I think it is a disgrace that this child has been pushed forward to front this political message.

There aren't seven billion people on this planet that 'have stolen her childhood', just a handful of stupid, ill informed adults that plainly aren't scientists, lack any ability to perform even the most basic of critical thinking and probably think they are doing the 'right thing' whilst being hopelessly unqualified in faculty to actually question what they are campaigning against.

It's a disgrace.

Already done iirc. How can anyone of sound mind even contemplate believing such dreck?

It really isn’t. Do you resent teenagers having passions that their parents accept. I know a few and their parents. I’m pleased to say they are intelligent enthusiastic and singleminded an will not tolerate an adult trying to impose opinions. Their parents would not btw. Their particular passions are completely different to Greta’s however their attitude however is analogous.

It’s a pity many adults rarely if ever encounter such teenagers. They are a refreshing surprise.

The only disgrace is your narrow mindset.

The UN Exec Director claims that it's simply not possible to have a digital conference, but when it is, she'll be the first to arrange one.

She's aware that man has already landed on the moon, right?
It was beautiful, wasn't it. "Are you going business class...?" "Well yes, but only because I had an operation....don't try to make this personal, you can try to make me look a hypocrite but it wont work..."

So more "Do as I say, not do as I do", from someone with huge vested interest in this utter bks.

Of course this was after they had one of the sailors flown over to sail greta back, who told us that it wasn't really green it was symbolic really as we had to use the diesel engines..."

Perhaps your time would be better spent trying to convince our climate scientists. I really don’t care what you have to say.

On the very rare occasion I need medical treatment I go to a doctor not one random anonymous bloke on the internet. So far my approach with experts has worked rather well for me in many ways.
