I am commenting on legality. His seeing a prostitute in the privacy of his home (well second home) is perfectly legal and nothing to do with us.
You don't seem to have a problem with his complete lack of honesty, integrity and judgement either.
You don't seem to have a problem that he demands people are sacked and penalised for failing in their judgements.
What 'interests' are you suggesting I have.
He's a lying, devious individual living a sordid life involving prostitution and drugs. Just the type we need in the most senior positions in Parliament.
It astounds me that you don't see a problem here.

I don't have a problem with him paying for sex, why do you?

I do not know whether him offering to reimburse the cost of cocaine that the prostitute purchased if they wanted to is unlawful or not. Is it? He stated he personally did not wish to partake.

In isolation, true. However, given his stance on high standards and expectations of public servants, it is correct to measure his own adherence to his stated demands. Certain occupations are expected to have higher standards than others.

Vaz's trouble is that he's spent too long being a supercilious and pompous prick so he has no reservoir of good faith to draw upon. I bet there are a dozen other MP's this story could have been written about but who have curried enough favour over the years that their predilections will remain undercover for as long as they don't upset the apple cart.

After watching some of the Select Committee circuses he ran, where he preached all high and mighty about integrity, all I have to say is:

Not sure if it's better than Mitchell receiving a seven-figure bill for his libel farce. Close.
yes

Do many people really think prostitution is morally offensive?

Nope. He's just combining the two oldest professions.

No idea. Do many people think dishonest politicians are morally offensive?

It's a fair and reasonable comparison.

Prostitution is legal (but subject to certain criteria).
Rightly or wrongly, it has a high social stigma, especially rent boys and especially for married men. People in positions of national importance shouldn't get themselves into situations where they could easily be blackmailed. It's a chronic failure of judgement and for that alone he deserves to be booted off the Select Committee. His constituents can make their own kinds up about where he should be re-elected.

Yes. He's always stuck himself on the moral high ground even though he's proven himself to be a devious and slimy prick time and again.

This time he's been caught and there's no committee in his pocket to clear him.

Just another Blairite being true to form. They're all liars and thieves.

It's a great day.

Quite, you could attribute the quote to Tony Blair talking about the taxpayer.

His whole political career has involved dishonesty. He's been caught numerous times. Your nativity regarding Eastern European sex workers and how they come to be in that position is again, astounding.

I did not state that none were, I asked for your evidence to support your assertion that these were.

Aside from other issues, what made him think that he would get away with it? At some point one of the rentboys would see a TV and recognise "Jim". There is something seriously wrong with this chap.

Yes. "I am the great Vaz and you are a rent boy. Who would believe you vs the great me!"
