Good, I was beginning to think the Chagall, Renoir and Matisse paintings I have in my Amber room were all fakes.

Have been reading the wiki entry on Nasi gold, check out the section when the Yanks discovered it in the Merkers Mine, can you imagine being a boggo private there when that was discovered? $_$

So "A Polish historian on Friday claimed he had found the Amber Room, a long-lost Russian treasure looted by the Nazis during the Second World War."

And "Radar tests showed there was a secret chamber at the back of the bunker where the treasure could be hidden, he said."

So basically he has found a blocked up chamber in an old bunker in which anything could be, or it could be empty but he has plucked the "Amber room" out of thin air as a possible room filler.

Why not a cryogenic pod and time frozen Hitler? Just for sts & giggles.

There's an old Nazi fort close to me that is blocked up. Perhaps I should check it out for the Amber room, just to be certain?

Is that Tony Robinson fronting it? He seems to deduce something from nothing very easily.

Fantastic standard of reporting there. "But months of investigations attempting to verify their discovery has so far come up trumps." I *think* they mean that there has been no result, rather than a better result than expected. Or perhaps it means something different down under.

A spokesman for the treasure-hunting team, Andrzej Gaik, told reporters on Tuesday: "We have to find a railway track, probably the entrance to a railway tunnel and, if the tunnel exists, there should be a train there."

Hardly a confidence inspiring statement from the treasure hunting team!

So if they find a railway track, they should find an entrance to a railway tunnel, if they find that there should be a train there? Hmmmm.
