“Here's our rundown of all the candidates that have announced they are running and some others who could join them, including a few wildcards, with a take from the BBC's Anthony Zurcher on each.”

An actual rock would be preferable to what we have now.

Because we're discussing reality, not fantasy.

Trump's shot himself in the foot by taxing the average American more. Not that the fact he's a huge embarrassment for America but the tax issue has driven his own supporters against him. Up against someone like O'Rourke or Delaney, he's got no chance.

Trump barely won against Hillary who actually received more votes than Trump did. Had this been a UK style FPTP election he wouldn't have even been president.

People thought he would lose last time, I guess they haven't learned much.

FPTP doesn't mean that the majority vote wins. It depends how they carve up the constituencies. It's just as biased as their current electoral college system. It would need to have been proportional representation to guarantee Hillary the win last time.

I don't know if Trump will win or lose, but my point was that he's not an unknown entity, like a white knight goijng to drain the swamp. His shine for those votes on the cusp will have gone, while he still is amazing and more to his voter core.

I knew you'd bring that up.....punch

The average American has done very well under his presidency, hence his enduring popularity and despite what the BBC might tell you.

I have plenty of family and friends scattered across the country and wealth spectrum with whom I stay in touch. I have no doubt as things stand now, Trump will win the next election.

But this thread is asking who will be the President after Trump's term has ended, which will be at some point on or before January 2025

The opening post says Donald is likely to win in 2020 based on polls, but he's got to go at some point. So after he has gone, whenever that is, who do you think will get in?

Many of my US colleagues are doing worse, not getting the tax refunds they had been expecting.

Either way though, it's amazing to think that for those people who consider themselves slightly better off financially, being humiliated daily by a clown (who is also likely a traitor) is less important to them.

Id say those who cried and wailed when Trump won and bleat on about it day after day desperate for any bit of tattle to try and change a democratic vote are looking more like clowns
