The Iranians have given a press conference, stating that Bahrain must not use violence against the population.

Wasn't Bush Snr (&maybe jnr too) involved in some financial arrangement with the Saudi's via the Carlyle group?

Yes but the 'rioters' are obviously agents of Iran so this makes it okay.

Is this the equivalent of an African solution to an African problem. Just now we substitute Middle East for Africa?

"Security forces with tanks have overrun a square in the centre of Bahrain's capital Manama where anti-government protesters have been camped for weeks.

At least three civilians were reportedly killed after police fired on mainly Shia protesters. Officials said three police also died.

Troops have taken over a hospital treating the wounded. Officials have imposed a curfew and banned protests."

I notice our political masters haven't condemned what's going on. This Arab despot still gets an invite to the Royal Wedding.

With what's going on in Japan, it's a convenient moment to bury bad news behaviour.

Can't we use this as an excuse to cease Saudi assets? That should help deal with the deficit.

Don't tempt these guys biggrin.

The minute the wind starts blowing against their Saudi friends, all these self righteous governments will.

Does Libya have a case in international courts for the illegal sequestration by the West?

Where's Rodimus for his take on this.

Who's idea was this?

The Prime Minister, The King, The Crown Prince or Saudi?

I'm willing to bet they weren't all in agreement to start with and a bit of coercion has gone on.

I'm-a-dinnerjacket on TV again stating how wrong it is to attack your own people... With a straight face too.

Stunning hypocrisy.

"The UK Foreign Office (FCO) has urged Britons to leave Bahrain on Thursday, amid protests and violence there.

The FCO said it would charter planes to help supplement the number of commercial flights available.

It said: "We recommend those British nationals who do not have a pressing reason to remain to leave via Bahrain International Airport on 17 March by commercial means."

Security forces with tanks have overrun a square in the Gulf state's capital.

Anti-government protesters have been camped there for weeks."

Official run away message!

And where is William Hague should he be attacking the actions of the Bahrain and Saudi governments?

There's only so much we can do. Bahrain is pretty small beer compared to Libya. It's cynical, but that's foreign policy.

Should we apply the morals/ethics to Libya as Bahrain?
