Same here, on the Giza plateua that is, and the Sphinx.
If you want to see proper pyramids and not just the tourist ones go here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_of_Djoser
I think the largest pyramid in the world might count as a proper one;) The Zoser pyramid (I read aboot them in Graham Hancock type books last millennium) would also be on the list as well though, along with Heliopolissmile

Oh FFS does some of PH never step away from the PC in their bedroom?

Corruption & make-it-up-as-we-go-along is the norm for most of the world. Hell the make it up enforcement is the norm in the UK if you believe most posts on SP& L.. Having been in & out of the UAE, most of the middle east, India & Africa for most of the last 20yrs I find some of the xenophobia on here stunning & right out of the Daily Mail.

banghead
Some have complained that some laws are only enforced "when it suits the authorities" in UAE. In that, there is no difference in theory between UAE and UK. We have laws which are so widely-drawn, and so in the gift of the politicians to apply, that they are little short of a travesty of accepted standards of drafting and human rights.

That they are not generally applied to "people like us" is of little consolation, IMHO. That they are not accompanied by seemingly-brutal punishments is also a small benefit, but is simply a matter of expectations - the Isle of Man had birching until comparatively recently, for instance, and many might prefer a beating to a long stint in prison.

By and large the UK strikes a somewhat better balance IMHO than the UAE, but the potential exists for matters to worsen, and the checks and balances one might hope for simply do not exist to prevent that from happening here.

(Edited for spelling of "birching", which the iPad auto-corrected to "bhing"!)

I also was not comparing the situation in Dubai with that in the UK, again merely pointing out how many fabricated & trumped up charges people in SP&L seem to suffer with even in the UK. Most of these are frankly unbelieveable but if you were to believe them you could assume the UK was as bad as Dubai in this resect!smile
As I'm sure you are very well aware, the UK is nothing like as bad as Dubai regarding police corruption and abuse of power.
