I haven't read enough this time around but I really do sincerely hope the hiring of part time or night shift workers isn't one of the major gripes? Especially considering that the forcing of new rotas and night shifts on 'members' was a major cause of the last strikes apparently?
Don't want to work nights? Fine, these guys/girls will do it.....
Or is it in fact simply about money which unsurprisingly can smooth over the work/life balance which is so important to the members and unions?

Ps - I am sure that I did read something about 'the interests of our members and FUTURE EMPLOYEES' ??? FFS....

There is some whinging about money in there but it does seem that TfL saying "fine if you don't want to work the Night Tube we'll just hire other people who do" and leaving it at that, has really pee'd them off. As presumably those new hires will either be on contracts that somehow disallow or discourage union membership, or it will be clear to the new hires from the way they've been hired that they're far more replaceable going forward.

Not quite sure what the dispute is actually about reading that bar the RMT clearly wants everything on whatever terms it decrees are perfect for their members? But wont state clearly what those terms are?
Bottom line is they want jobs for life, work whenever they feel like it, closed shop, pay rises and guaranteed improvements to their work/life balance?
Seems OK to most of us I guess?

Suggestion: Do your job to the best of your ability every day and take the wage. If you don't like how your employer runs their business then feel free to RESIGN and let another have your job. Where I come from it's not a good idea to tell your employer how to run their business.

RMT are fighting for T&C's because they have seen what TFL did to londons buses and don't want the same to happen to them.
Tube staff have been offered a four-year pay deal, lump sum payments of £500 each and the prospect of a 36-hour, four-day week to call off strikes starting next week and get the Night Tube up and running.

I totally agree with you!It clearly isn't about the money.....
But the extra one off £500 does improve work/life balance?
And the prospect of an above inflation pay rise and reduced hours - which again improves the work life balance will go down well. The fact that it would massively increase their hourly rate is a pure coincidence!!!
Mmmmm.....
Just play them along while quietly introducing technology which will do away with their jobs. The more outrageous the settlements, the easier it is to justify investing in technology. Just how stupid do you have to be or is it a deliberate strategy to fill your boots before the party is over.
