How do I FF thru the programme on sat night please. Not much clever at the internet thingy
If it bothers you that much then record it and watch it on Sunday morning, or start watching it 25 minutes later. So you want to watch MOTD without the punditry or the post-match interviews - right? This is quite easy to do. You have two (2) options.
1. You can record it and watch it the following day.
2. If you can't wait that long what you can do is delay the start by 25 or even 30 minutes. This means you'll be behind the live broadcast allowing you to fast forward through the bits you find too hard to understand. If you time it right you'll finish at the same time the programme finishes.
I hope that helps. If you're still struggling then try to find an adult who might be able to help you.

I’m not singling anything out, but I’m also not aware of the MOTD format being available anywhere else?
Pretty much ever other football broadcaster and even sports broadcasters follow the same format. Informed commentators/presenters, before, during and after the games.Football - BT Sport, Sky etc
Other sports - 6 nations, most rugby matches, horse racing, F1...

You can fast forward MOTD on saturday to avoid the yak....OK, havent found that function yet
No, but then as you seem to think that anyone who watches matches live on the TV can't ever actually attend them in person I think we can ignore your opinion anyway. It's good to see opinions still being aired, though the debate continues around where and when.

There's a lot of that (irony) in a thread ostensibly about supporting the capacity to air an opinion some don't like.

Au contraire, my little Tory chum, opinions are free to be aired, just as they're free to be ignored. Particularly when they're so obviously nonsense. It's good to see opinions still being aired, though the debate continues around where and when.

Other networks show a whole game, and none of them have a program showing a compilation, not to my knowledge anyway?

The analysis is the best bit! That dotted like drawn behind the player running helps you fathom he's running along.
I like the way they draw various shapes (pentagons, dodecahedrons etc) to connect various players as if it's some well organised formation rather than just 7/8 players standing at random places According to his agent Gary Lineker thought he had an agreement with the BBC whereby he could comment freely on certain issues (amongst them being refugees and immigration). So either that agreement wasn't very clear - and resulted in a misunderstanding - or the BBC reneged on it; however, either way it escalated out of all proportion with the BBC's decision to stand him down from MOTD seemingly a significant contributor to that.
Reflecting on the whole saga, I have to say I'm not really sure why people working for the BBC - whether as employees or freelancers - should need to remain impartial with the comments they make in things like personal Tweets unless they're either political commentators or work in the newsroom. Providing a presenter like Gary Lineker makes it clear he's commenting in a personal capacity (as opposed to his professional capacity with the BBC) I think he should be free to say what he wants and people can then make-up their own minds as to whether they agree with him or not.
So on balance I think it should be ok for Lineker to compare the UK government with 1930's Germany if that's the way he feels; I still think it's inappropriate hyperbole but I nevertheless defend his right to say it. He should also be free to express his view on something like trophy hunting and on that issue I happen to think he's spot on. It will be interesting to see what the independent review decides...
