America, welcome to the beginnings of totalitarianism.

I do believe however, that it is another distraction technique. Most don’t have security clearance any longer. All have been highly critical of Trump.

Trump just sent out his spokeswoman to say that people he knows will be witnesses against him in a federal case are going to be punished at his direction for things they have said about him that would be relevant to and possibly part of their testimony. This is a legal obscenity.

In his alternate reality he might think he will be able to punish them. In the real world he's talking out of his arse as usual.

The press secretary said Mr Trump "doesn't like the fact that people are politicising agencies and departments that are specifically meant to not be political and to be monetised off security clearances".

Monetised? Security clearance?

Perhaps Jared should be spoken to about that...

Cohen, cash for access to trump, that passed onto trump.
Payments to Pruitt from companies hoping to profit from relaxing rules on environmental issues
Lobbying and cash from companies to trump for relaxation on mining rules

There's a long list of cash getting paid to team trump

This isn't the first time he's tried witness intimidation.

Trump was supposed to reunite families separated in his deterrent policy for anyone crossing the border. Instead they've deported up to 463 parents without their children.

Also didn’t Mar a Lago fees jump and the website change to say one of the benefits was “proximity to the POTUS” the instant he was elected?

To be honest I just assumed people would lose security clearance once they were no longer in the job anyway.

We all know exactly how Trump ran his companies though don’t we. As a dictator who demanded absolute loyalty. Step out of line even a bit and he will try and destroy you.

It will be his downfall. He is taking on institutions which are incredibly powerful and will remain long after he is gone.

From $100,000 to $200,000 a year membership fees, but then some of the members have been employed in team trump since as well, so could be seen as a good investment. Swamp draining indeed biggrin

That Qatar protest outside Downing Street using paid for extras...

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jul/23/qata...

Always worth remembering that trump administration didn't come out against Qatar until they turned down funding for Kushners failing businesses.
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/03/did-jared-...

I mean there's already those links with the Rosneft oil deal, between trump and Qatar, when trump got paid a percentage, where Cohen asked for $1m fee
https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/qatar-kushner-and-...

Lets not forget the Rosneft deal was at the center of the original request for the relaxation of Sanctions by the russians, which Roger Stone was heavily involved in, that same Stone with the links to Russian hackers, Guciffer 2.0, Assange and Wikileaks etc

http://uk.businessinsider.com/carter-page-trump-ru...

Still eh - the donald says no links to russia, no business, no collusion. He never lies - does he....

Very similar to what the Koch Brothers did for people to turn up at Tea Party rallies against Obama, when they placed ads in CraigsList, with Bannons involvement.

The agency says the client was Neptune PR, who have claimed it wasn't.

NeptunePR
‏We totally repute that Neptune PR was in anyway shape or form, engaged or associated with any such company @extrapeopleltd
We demand you provide a shred of evidence to support this outrageous claim
Such accusations are liable to led to legal action.

Neptune PR is registered to a French National, Lola Tirand as the Director and it was founded in April of this year.

Guess where Bannon is at the moment

Interesting information on how these "Security Clearances" work for people who no longer hold the office for which the clearance was obtained.

The way it works is that, when an official leaves office, they no longer have the right to access up to date intelligence. However, their clearances are usually left in place so that they can act as consultants to the current incumbents - especially when it comes to matters which might have happened during the period they were in office.

By shutting off these clearances, the current intelligence community will lose access to the information, knowledge and experience that these people possess.

This is the Trump Administration, of course, where shooting oneself in the foot and other parts of the anatomy is the norm.

The headline and perception of being tough is more important to him than the loss of high level expertise.
