It's impossible to generalise about London, and that's what makes it truly great.
It's a massive sthole.See, not impossible.
With the exception a few well off areas, London always was a dirty, litter strewn, overcrowded ugly sh*thole.
I went there for the funeral of the last of my relatives who still lived in London, and it has got even worse, far worse than I remember it. Flying North of London, on gin clear day shows, London as a big bubble of filth. on an otherwise clear the horizon.
Perhaps surrounding counties should start fining Khan for the pollution that spreads over their areas from London?
One of the worst things about London, having lived there most of my life and recently left is that there's no place for the middle class. So it basically means the poor are left to ravage the place. The richer types can afford nice places in nice parts close to the centre but they're a minority and probably not even in London most of the time. There are middle class households in London but probably bought their house in the 1960s and held on to it.

^^this^^Our middle class friends tell us they are getting a serious kicking, and just about treading water financially.

Lol'ing at the Londoners getting all touchy if someone else isn't a fan
TX.
What's "touchy" about suggesting that big cities aren't for everyone? That's just a statement of fact.TX.
You're trying a bit too hard to find something that isn't there...

On the news just now. The security for mobile camera vans run over a protester. She's on crutches with badly bruised legs.
Sadly, having seen earlier videos showing how van and car drivers are only too happy to ignore traffic laws (driving with a windscreen obscured by stickers, and driving the wrong way around a roundabout), it was somewhat inevitable that an incident like this would occur. TfLs statement in response was shameful and dismissive, and sounded like it could have been written by our dear leader himself given how quick he is to similarly dismiss genuine issues faced by people affected by ULEZ.twister said:

Nice job of leaping on the "two-tier policing" bandwagon though.

The logic behind that totally useless Khan and his ULEZ theory is not dissimilar to somebody deciding that they dont want people with muddy boots tramping through their house but allowing them to continue if they pay him money.
The main drawback Khan has is the the prevailing winds will blow all those nasty fumes out of London in minutes However they will be replaced by equally toxic fumes from all the non compliant vehicles going around the M25 24/7 being blown in,s unless the fkwits next plan is to totally enclose the GLC area under a dome
IF he was really concerned he would have banned ALL non compliant vehicles from entering ,but to let them come in and casrry on doing it for 12.50 a po is beyond any sane persons belief.
So you don't believe that pricing (or taxation) changes behaviour? The main drawback Khan has is the the prevailing winds will blow all those nasty fumes out of London in minutes However they will be replaced by equally toxic fumes from all the non compliant vehicles going around the M25 24/7 being blown in,s unless the fkwits next plan is to totally enclose the GLC area under a dome

I'm wondering what the Venn diagram of PH posters who encouraged the public to drive through JSO protesters, but are now outraged that someone doing their job has driven through protesters. I'm imagining a circle.
Nice job of leaping on the "two-tier policing" bandwagon though.
But he's not saying that he's outraged. He's saying that either both actions are wrong or both are allowable. If one is okay and the other isn't then the police have varying standards of enforcement.Nice job of leaping on the "two-tier policing" bandwagon though.
