Was CA-7 itself not backed up...?

The numpty at the sharp end can be blamed until the cows come home, but good implementations protect against numptyism - st often happens no matter who is at the controls.

Just read the change that caused it and the incident ticket. Interesting reading however I don't understand mainframe stuff so some of the technical aspects escape me.

All the DR in the world won't help if you've deleted a very complicated Schedule with dependencies. They will have DR hardware but batch processing is a complex beast and flipping to DR won't help a batch stream that's fubar.

May we assume Rajat Kharbanda of Infosys is the now-unemployed individual that Stephen Hester knows nothing about?

The way the IT industry works after such a huge cock up he will end up in a better job with less work for more money. Just look at Leo Apotheker.

His LinkedIn profile certainly fits the bill. I guess on a technicality Hester can claim he was not offshore since Infosys appear to have brought him to the UK some of the time to undercut the going rate for UK workers.

There are loads where I work, complaining about the quality of state schools, price of housing, cost of living etc. Now they want to be paid the same money as the people they replaced, even though they do about 10% as much work and have no idea how to communicate with the business users.

We can not assume thIs as there is no mention of him in the incident. But if a cv is moved by request it does look suspect.

Just checked his linkedin profile. Its been removed. Why?

Hmmm I have to balance this attack on off shore resources with some observations.

Recently on a massive payments integration programme the off shore resources were by and large an order of magnitude better than the on shore. But it was the role it seemed of the on shore resources to be critical of off shore at every chance.
