Stormageddon Mk 6 The Fury of February
Discussion
Doris. With all the winds at almost hurricane force, they should surely have called it Dorothy?
Wizard of Oz and all that.
Oh dear, the Met Office, one Helen Chives, says using names has made people 'safer'.
Tell that to the family of the poor woman who died today in Wolverhampton.

I got blown into a wall in Clitheroe this morning, turned a corner, sudden gust of wind and face planted the flaming thing, and although my cheek bone still hurts, there's not a mark to prove it happened :/
Meanwhile my truckie hubby was trying to get from Nuneaton to Blackburn, with conflicting reports of the Thelwall being open and then closed and then open and then closed again, but anyway the diversion was in place and the traffic stacking up so he ended up going the long way round Manchester, hopefully he will be home soon.

Are you sure you didn't damage the wall. There'll be a nasty court case!!!I'm very grateful to Doris
I'm good friends with a chap called Garry who lives opposite (down a cul de sac) - For many years if I'm in the garage I can see if he's in his and viki verki - this means frequently we can bring beer and conversation in either direction.
However this practice for the last few years has been spoiled by an intermediate neighbour planting a fast growing conifer in their front garden that is right in the line of common sight.
Doris removed the problem today - I say removed flattened it across his driveway I think the stbox Corsa escaped damage

Wind has all but stopped, here in West Midlands.
Our clothes prop blew down, and a neighbour lost a couple of fence panels.....and that seems to be that.....
Well here in Norfolk we got a right fking battering, worst I've seen since some woman phoned Michael Fish back in '87.Our clothes prop blew down, and a neighbour lost a couple of fence panels.....and that seems to be that.....
40,000 homes without power in Norfolk (us included earlier) and a lot of trees down.

Can I come out now, or is Doris waiting to slap me about with a dead fish?
If you want to "come out" then fine fella I'm not homophobic and I don't know anyone who would slap you with a dead fish* for finally admitting being "Gay"*seems a very odd thing to do - it's not been mentioned in the 100 month club

Its a bit disconcerting when the plane drops when descending as you don't feel the corresponding return to level, the actual touch down itself was very smooth though.

I'd say, having lived where I do for 12 years, it's done more damage than any storm I can remember. I'm not sure whether it was all down to the magnitude of the gusts, or if blowing from the NW direction had something to do with it.40,000 homes without power in Norfolk (us included earlier) and a lot of trees down.
Me and the new dog had to take a bit of a diversion on our walk yesterday evening.
