Yet again i dont see the issue here and quite frankly if the uk gov get involved in anything other than harsh words I will be severely pissed off.

This is not our problem nor are the "freedom fighters" who have been shown to be faking incidents for international sympathy effect.

Not our problem.
Absolutely.

That's because from where I am sitting he's not. A group of people are trying to get a mass movement going to overthrow the gov so that they can get the Muslim brotherhood in power and create a new Islamic state .

All he is doing is trying to stop it. Much like Sinn Fein in Ireland or eta in Spain. A group of loony terrorists only in this case much much crazier.

I don't disagree - he has a lot of support still, and when it disappears it is a different game. And yet the 'West" seem to have only one agenda - Assad out.

And when Assad is out, the next Arab leader on the menu?

Maybe I'm just naive but these people don't seem like they could be involved in the atrocities.

Go on 4OD, and watch the latest Despatches. It explains how they duped the rest of the world into thinking they were normal, for a while.

Just watched it and see nothing that concerns me. Bad pr from him but otherwise i dont feel he has done anything wrong. He is protecting his country and the rest of the world refuse to accept it.

Something everyone in the world seems to forget is that the muslim brotherhood have got very VERY good at creating negative press for those they want to depose.

They will see no harm at all and in fact will see it as an honour to kill innocent children etc to set up the syrian president for a fall. He's made mistakes but from what i can gather the majority of people in syria are still big fans of his it is small groups in a few key cities who are trying to stir up trouble.

Imo i reckon I let him crack on.

So the media and western governments are supporting the rebels in Syrian however they want to send in 3000 armed monitors to stop the rebels getting the WMDs:

What worries me is the ignorance and stupidity of global governments and organizations such as the UN.

Smartest suggestion yet though Obama should leave Bashar alone to run his country as he sees fit. Beyond doubt get Russian troops into Syria to help protect their weapons and allow the Syrian army to crush the Muslim brotherhood uprising.

I'd forgotten that the 'safe' filter was off on my computer and saw some of the images from the Syria massacres..... Including the killing, by chainsaw, of men who had their hands tied behind their backs.

We (the UK) can't get involved in more wars. But I despair for those being killed and being killed in the most awful ways.

Is there no solution?

Quite, one reason for doing nothing is that TB is partially correct and there is a legitimate protest. It's far from simple now

I am somewhat surprised by some of the recent posters willingness to accept that anti-government protestors are solely behind the massacres.

I do not think that its anti government protestors I don't know.

The point is it could be anybody just don't be so ready to believe what our media reports.

40 school children had their throats cut in Bosnia. The media instantly blamed Serbia the government wanted action the US went mental.

Bonian muslims did it to their own children in order for the western media to get on their side and it worked. 40 children! It always works and its working now.

There is a strange thing happening at the moment where rebels are considered good government bad. until its rebel we don't like then watch it switch back again.

Sounds like part of the plot from "Red Storm Rising"....
