Climate protesters block roads

From a local Facebook group. Tbf the park they are camped in normally has a certain element in it anyway.
Why is it always Glastonbury that people compare impromptu hippy layabout camps like this rabble to. Glastonbury is one of if not THE best organised of all the festivals in Europe these days!juice said:

It's just a bathtub, can't be beyond the wit of the local police to get two stout coppers to manhandle it over to the pavement (or into a flatbed truck and just dump it somewhere less in the way, like his parents garden, or outside the nearest public toilet) with him still attached if he wants to be.https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/ex...
Or just get on and rip him off the stupid bathtub, his choice if his skin gets left on there.

Having seen the procession of vans heading to Glastonbury through Bristol and the ones at the XR camp, they do look remarkable similar. I daresay lots of motorhomes and caravans went to Glastonbury too, but they weren't as obvious. I've just noticed that two of the founders of Extinction Rebellion live in (The People's Republic Of) Stroud, which by a stroke of luck, is the nearest hippy refuge / ecotown to me. Once all this is over perhaps I'll double park one of my modest fleet alongside their car one morning, engine running of course, just before they are due to take their offspring, Calypso and Skye Angel, to school
I'm sure they'll agree that my peaceful (well 96 decibel ) protest is worthwhile to draw attention to my campaign against morally superior eco wombles starving our NHS of tax revenue by causing unnecessary policing costs.

I have no idea how true it is (saw it on Facebook, so fair chance it could be rubbish!) but someone rang up the local radio station this morning to say they had received a call from the BRI asking them to get down there pretty quick as their father was about to pass away but they didn't make it in time.
Blame attached to the XR protestors as chap was trying to get from Thornbury down to town but found himself stuck in traffic.

Seen that a few places today. Also seen hospital staff saying they were over an hour late for work. As the BRI is near the centre, I can see how they would be delayed getting there. I have a hospital appointment on Friday. Looking forward to getting to that.Blame attached to the XR protestors as chap was trying to get from Thornbury down to town but found himself stuck in traffic.

I'd be surprised if there are just the two. It does sometimes appear that many of the activist mummies are creating a net increase in the number of humans while simultaneously insisting that everyone else "fixes" the climate.
Climate Rebellion - the organisation who want us all to be poorer.

" all you need to know about Extinction Rebellion – it is, above all else, a movement of students and left-wing academics. "
"How utterly predictable that Extinction Rebellion should have re-emerged this week to block streets with its boats. You just have to ask yourself what happened last week: most universities broke up for the summer. The group’s activities have now settled into something of a pattern. When universities are on vacation we get these big protests, sucking in protesters from all over the country. During term-time, on the other hand, we get small protests in university towns as we had in Cambridge, Oxford and Edinburgh in May and June."

I would be able to get involved in that protest :-)I'm sure they'll agree that my peaceful (well 96 decibel ) protest is worthwhile to draw attention to my campaign against morally superior eco wombles starving our NHS of tax revenue by causing unnecessary policing costs.
What a pretenious tt, by the way.

China and India are driven by western consumerism.
The 5 top users of Solar power are re[rted to be Germany, China, Japan, Italy and the US. in an earlier post some mentioned the UK being 50 years ahead of other countries, I don't think so.
When Coal Gas switched to Natural Gas there was a UK wide program to switch the country over, the same thing could be done for Green energy, the Government won't do it, you can't control or charge for independent power sources both Big industry and the Government would loose out.
Got any stats to back this up? It certainly doesn't match any stats I have seen about the UK. As in lack of CO2 reduction, not investing/having subsidies for green energy etc? For example the UK has gone from 12.6 to 7.7 tonnes of CO2* per capita between 2000 and 2017. Which is a 39% reduction. But nah, it'll never happen - big business, evil capitalist governments etc. (*It's actually global warming potential gases, which includes CO2, but also methane etc - converted to C02 equivalents).
