Has apparently been arrested at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
The Met were invited in by the Ecuadorian Ambassador, good, about time this was sorted out!http://news.met.police.uk/news/arrest-update-sw1-3...
I guess the Ecuadorian government decided that him living with them was even worse than whatever dirt Wikileaks has on them, then?

Just heard we won’t extradite him to the US? Any truth to that?
In so far as we are extraditing him to Sweden yes. What they do with him is up to them I guess!p1stonhead said:

We have said consistently, right from the outset that we won't. We can't in any event as Sweden has an application in already and the yanks haven't even made one.His complaint was that he should not be extradited to Sweden because they will give him to the Yanks who will execute him. That is a massive load of bks because Human Rights law prevents us extraditing him anywhere where he could face the death penalty and, as he had come from here, Sweden would need permission from us to extradite him anywhere else in any event.
It was all just so much bks purely because he doesn't want to go to Sweden to face rape charges. He's really fked him self as even if he was convicted in Sweden it's one of the softest places in the World (certainly Europe) for sex crimes so he would have done minimal jail time, if any. As it is his narcissistic, arrogant personality disorder has cost him years of his life.

Hasn’t the Swedish case been dropped? This arrest is because he broke bail conditionals relating to the Swedish case. But Swedish prosecutors are no longer pursuing that case.geeks said:

I don't know how Swedish law works but a time limit on prosecution where the alleged perpetrator knows of the investigation and is intentionally avoiding being questioned and has even gone to the extent of breaking the law (all be it in a different country) to avoid it, is just wrong on so many levels. It reduces the criminal justice system to a game of Dare.
