6,000 company insolvencies expected in 2023

What was the rate in 2019? Construction related firms going pop was never an unusual thing anyway, for quite a few people it's a regular habit.

2019 (possibly, in no small part, due to appallingly wet weather IMHO) was the previous, recent high at 3,429.

Even 2012 at 4,042 looks a wlak in the park, when compared with 6,000.

Fair, I seem to remember there was a year where the market went mad, perhaps it was actually 2021.

I think the expectation that everything grinds to a halt is silly. Many houses owned outright in the UK, lots of people have had significant payrises etc in recent years. No commuting costs for others due to WFH.

It’ll smash a lot of people but there will be plenty who aren’t that fussed over it all.
Who ?
He's not talking about the poors, silly! he just means the people who actually matter

Got the dreaded email from my daughter's nursery today about fee increases.

They're putting them up 20pc in April.

Got away with 10% here. Now a tidy £2025 per month. Dulwich College costs less!

I thought 10% was actually pretty fair given the amount of energy and food they get through.
