My understanding is that all the "jobs" are only 1 year contracts anyway. So giving up a 85k permie job for a 100k 1 yr contract seems daft.

Yeah but you get to be a "celebrity", the primary reason behind entering for most people beyond the first season.

I'd happily sit around and do fk all for £100k
I walked away from a job doing fk all last year. Having to be in the office 40 hours a week but only having about 12 hours a week of work to do just got too boring, even with PH to read.

I would have to disagree

As presented the job is an opportunity to learn from Alan Sugar, the £100k is a good incentive, but hardly key for someone already in a good career.

If there are five layers of management between you then I fail to see how you are supposed to 'learn' from him.

No, none at all. The fact that they are stupid enough to go on this freak show would rule out any chance.

Must fight the urge to fake multi post "No" seven times.

The caliber of contestants is unsurprising given that nobody in their right mind would want to work for that terrier-faced mug. Honestly, he's a barrow boy who had a bit of luck and everyone acts like he's God Almighty.

She's rather naive if she seriously thinks the labour peer is after an apprentice. It's a game show - he just wants his fee for doing it, and her role is to keep quiet whilst the prize money is doled out and then disappear.

I suspect the new prize format is mainly intended to keep the winner out of the way to avoid problems caused by them thinking they should be put in charge of something.
In the same way some people can be promoted as a means of damage control? promote them to a job where they can't fk with anything!

I rather suspect he's after the publicity more than the fee
