islamic militants bomb christian church in nigeria..
Discussion
Islamism or political Islam (the belief that Islam should guide social and political as well as personal life ) is a dangerous ideology because it leaves very little freedom for those outside of this very narrow viewpoint. You just have to look at groups like the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, the Taliban or what is happening in Northern Nigeria just now to see this.
I don't believe in any of what it teaches however I don't think Islam on its own is all that nasty or dangerous. The vast majority of those who practice it in this country seem decent human beings. However add some politics in and it becomes a nasty combination. As with any mixing of religion and state I guess.

Well actually no one said that A was "as bad as" B until the second post. Oh. You don't want to talk about A being nuttier than B, but it's ok to say that they are all the same?
There's a group here that are, rightly, close to being proscribed as a terrorist group, so I guess the question is where they lie on the nutty scale.
I understand your opposition to religion, but I think that you are so opposed to it that you're blind to see the difference between A, B and C because you're all the way down at Z. That's not meant to be an insult, but I do think that your average athiest would see a difference between Boko Haram and a non-extremist group who are willing to let people hold thier own beliefs in a democratic forum, while letting them wear what they like.
I don't expect to change your opinion in any way, but I do think there's an important distinction between a group who do blow up churches on Christmas Day, and a group who don't blow up mosques on Whateverday.
Anyway, Happy Christmas from someone who is ony slightly less cynical than yourself, but a lot less vocal.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
I DIDN'T SAY THEY WERE THE SAME! PLEASE QUOTE ME WHERE I SAID THAT.There's a group here that are, rightly, close to being proscribed as a terrorist group, so I guess the question is where they lie on the nutty scale.

Right, after I have got that out of the way, when I said they were as bad as each other, it is obviously regarding the behaviour of both parties. They have been having this conflict for decades, not just since your Bobo Fett group came along. This Islamic vs Christian conflict has been going on since the late 50's, I think, so frankly Bobo Fett and his jolly band of merry men have little to do with this fight historically.
I am not blind to anything, YOU just seem to think I have made statements which I have repeatedly told you I did NOT make. I did NOT say they were the same. I did not talk about who is oppressed, and who was the oppressor. I did not mention any of the groups involved. You brought those things into the conversation as though I had made a categorical statement about each of them. Again, (and I really hope you are getting this), I did not say such a thing.
What I did say was that they are as bad as each other. The rest of this stupid argument you seem to have had in your own head, and marched gallantly on like some WWII Japanese soldier protecting the interests of the Emporer on a Pacific Island in 1973. Go back, read what I wrote, and if you can tell me where I made any comparison apart from "they are as bad as each other", I'll give you a prize.

But they aren't though, are they?
No, you're right. The Christians are lovely people there, and don't kill anyone for trivial stupid reasons, or do anything even remotely nasty, against the innocent, or because of anything as silly or nutty as the Muslims, who are clearly far worse than anyone. If I wanted to be killed by a fruit at bunch of oit of control Africans, I would rather be killed by the sane Christians, as the nut Muslims are far nuttier, clearly.VERY NSFW link... Pictures of charming, non nutty Christians burning witches, who are clearly nutty, and deserving of this treatment. These are probably the same Christian who do not attack Muslims in unannounced attacks, and against innocent people, unlike those nasty Muslims.

So neither one of you can actually show how the nutty Christian fringes in these countries are nowhere near the level of nutty than the nutty Islamic fringes? Instead you are going to have a circle jerk, and slap each other on the back?
I'm not sure why I actually bother looking for links to show how non-nutty Christiansen Nigeria are.

Personally, I am still awaiting your response to the questions asked by MX7TheHeretic said:

You are not alone. Muntu said:
CTRL +F with a question mark should do it for you.
I was under the impression that you were some sort of supersleuth with all the links you have been sharing?![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Well, the only questions I can find is the one about a Christian sect as nutty as Bobo Fett... As I said at the time, I never said they were the same, merely that they are both as bad as each other, and gave the witch burning as an example. I've even linked to a video of said burning for you to watch. So, his question was based on something I never said. I was under the impression that you were some sort of supersleuth with all the links you have been sharing?

The next question was again about if I can talk about A and B and call them the same. Again, I never said they were the same. This has already been covered.

Back to the point someone made about four NHS eye surgeons threatening a Christian convert. I expect that of the extremist Muslims but the doctors, being a bit more worldly and educated, were suppossed to be part of the "majority of Muslims that are tolerant". What gives here?

I'm sure that in the Bosnian conflict there were clashes between both sides, yet only one said has ended up in The Hague, and that's because their views were the least tolerant and the most extreme.
I love statements that start with "I'm sure that"... ![blabla](/inc/images/blabla.gif)
Ever been to Bosnia/Croatia/Serbia during the conflict?
