Not a charity just robbers. That profit on any company is massive and wrong. Bearing in mind that is up 54% on last years profit.Thats some growth. How can any body thing is good apart from shell of corse. These amounts of profits are contributing factor to people loosing there jobs and pushing prices up on other items. That the world just can't afford at this economic time.
Their profit collapsed in 2009. Their profit in 2011 is barely 5% up on their 2007 figures.Earnings per share are less than they were in 2007.
These figures simply demonstrate that they are recovering from the recession.
Sensible people will see that this is very good news for everybody.

Ooohhh, those nasty big companies, making all that profit.
How dare they be so successful, paying all that Corporation Tax and employing people, who in turn pay tax and spend their hard earned on other goods, thus creating more employment and tax revenues.
I'll bet all those nasty bankers are in collusion with them, lighting their cigars with £50 notes whilst they laugh at people likestudent
lefty
idiots the OP.
Shame on them![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)

Thats like saying Lehmam Brothers was the 4th biggest investment bank in the US in 2008... but that doesn't tell you were they are now? Where are they now? How big are they in the US in 2012?

And citing Guardian indignation as a justification for getting upset about it.Thats like saying Lehmam Brothers was the 4th biggest investment bank in the US in 2008... but that doesn't tell you were they are now? Where are they now? How big are they in the US in 2012?

Hollydog, can you explain your reasoning?
Ignoring that retail petrol sales are a small part of Shell's business, if I pay Shell £1.40 for a litre of diesel and they make 10p (and I don't think they make that much) and the Government takes £1 or whatever the figure is, how are Shell profiteering?
