young hacker types are out making millions stealing from Steam or somehting. Not working for the Police.

Though I would imagine they do have techie people - but they may not be the criminal investigators.

Getting into this thread is difficult. Pistonheads doesn't handle apostrophes well.

Quite normal for conference calls, at least the ones I've been on.

Depends on the conf system. One of our suppliers has a similar yank conf set-up to this one, where you simply join, it beeps and you have to announce yourself. Our internal one however requires you to give a name, then when everyone has joined the chair hits #2 and it does a rollcall of participants, then announces whether there are any unidentified participants.

That said, shocking security on this call. Lots of joining beeps but the chair isn't checking anyone arriving. Unbelievable.

Okay whats steam?

To me steam is the superheated stuff that comes out of boilers at 500C that makes stuff happen

David Blunkett demanding an apology for the people of Sheffield from the security services for slagging off their city.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bradford-west...

"One UK officer told FBI counterparts they had not missed much by not visiting the city as it was not "a jewel in England's crown"".

Seems quite a mild comment really. Perhaps Mr Blunkett should set his sights on more important matters.
