One can imagine the scene....a drunk Joyce espousing xenophobic, jingoistic, anti English venom in between singing "oh flower of Scoooooaaaatland" before being politely asked to tone it down.....cue a Francis Begbie like moment from Trainspotting and a massive brawl. Kick him out.....never mind th Scots voting on their independence....let us vote on ours.

Sky news just said Labour party will be kicking him out.

IMHO that should trigger a by-election.
But you vote for a MP, not a party.

I think that there should possibly be a way that the constituents can trigger a by-election, but it could be quite difficult to do.

I suppose he could stand as an independent on a Buckfast & Pugilism ticket.

I live in Falkirk and could not believe this guy was voted back in at the last election. He is a DRUNK. I have seen him staggering through the town in the early evening. Labour should remove him immediately and hold a buy election as if not he will only cause them further embarrassment.

Their are more stories to come out about this waiste of space and it does not say much for labour that they put this guy up as a candidate.

If Labour do not remove him the people of Falkirk will not forget that he was left in office and they will not regain the seat at the next election.

I think that the problem is that a political party can only remove the "whip" from an MP (i.e. stop them from calling themselves labour, tory etc) which has very little real impact. I don't think the party has the power to force a by-election.

In the past a by-election would have taken place as MPs would accept that their behaviour had shamed the house and resigned.

However, Mr Joyce clearly has no shame. He is well aware that he can (and does) claim over £200k a year in salary, travel expenses, staff expenses, office expenses etc. and if he is either deselected of loses his seat at the next general election he will be entitled to extremely generous severance pay.

If the next general election is not for another 3 years then he can still milk the taxpayer for another £700k approx - and he will.

The bar was full of Tories. I'm a delusioned w@nker and would much rather support an incompetent drunk with a red tie than those who don't squeeze every penny out of the tax payer.
EFA

Those he was fighting with are not blue bloods by any stretch of the imagination a teacher and fund raiser for Martin House Children's Hospice. Then also his Labour whip.

You could do a lot worse than ask Dennis Canavan to run again.

Absolutley....

from Dennis Canavan to this Idiot, how the hell did that happen. Honestly I feel like a donkey could stand for Labour up here and it would get voted in mind you it would probably do a better job than this idiot!!
