I object massively to an animal being killed for sport. Simple enough for you?

I've heard all the arguments, many, many times but fundamentally i find the idea repulsive. I appreciate there is now going to be a massive clamour for man points at my expense, but that's my view. Enjoy.
Thats lovely. No manpoint scoring here. If you've heard all of the logical arguments but still feel the way you do there's clearly nothing I can say here that will change your mind.

Doesn't make for much of a discussion on a discussion forum, though, does it?
how do you feel about cake?

I'll answer my own question.

elephant, crocodile, kudu, civet cat and water buck.

So I guess he went along to the local village and said, "Here's a crocodile and a civet cat I just shot. Enjoy year meal." To which they replied, "Thick whitey, we don't eat that st now fk off and shoot your own animals."

And common ground is achieved once again, through cake.

Not my thing either. I wouldnt want to do it myself but I am not going to berate somebody who does.

For a start I am not a vegitarian so to do so would make me a hypocritt and for another thing you have not posted any information about it.

Some wildlife has to be culled when the herds get too big. Whatever he shot may have been shot anyway by somebody else.
Population control is an unfortunate necessity. I've lived in the countryside for forty years and work closely with wildlife trusts and even i accept that. Perhaps go and look at the pics of the hunt in question and make your own mind up, but it seemed in pretty poor taste to me, especially when he then attempted to justify his position as being driven purely from a desire to help the local economy.

Like you say, just not my thing.
If it isn't your thing, then why torture yourself by reading about it, posting about it, getting in a huff about it, and generally being a dying-swan attention we about it?

Unfortunately the scabby monkey was too clever for Trump and it got away.

Self preservation in the face of an attacking dessert is, of course, totally justified.

so if you are not outraged but somebody shooting an animal without any facts or information and ask about the point you are a nanderthal?

Nice ballenced argument you guys are putting up. Some people really like to be victims. Take the chip off.

Perhaps neanderthal is a little strong. Hunting is a very emotive subject. No doubt it's been done to death in here before, just found this to be an interesting current article. Very, very hard to find common ground on bloodsports.

Even in the very terminology. No one who hunts, shoots or fishes calls what they do bloodsports. But then again, I guess no one who actively opposes them calls them field sports.
