Because the fat pastie folk may vote for him. He's not going to bend over for some plastic-faced woman from a country with no military/political clout that he doesn't give a f8k about.Adrian W said:
Something very odd about that BBC story, the radio report I heard this morning said that she confronted him and tried to give him a document and he refused to take it.
According to the article on the BBC it was Cameron who confronted Kirchner to tell her that he would not be discussing sovereignty with her and she should respect the islanders referendum.BBC article said:
Mr Cameron approached Ms Fernandez, and told her: "I am not proposing a full discussion now on the Falklands but I hope you have noted that they are holding a referendum and you should respect their views.
"We should believe in self determination and act as democrats here in the G20."
Aides said Mr Cameron gave a "clear and calm message" which he repeated three times as his words were interpreted into Spanish. Ms Fernandez is said to have responded with "ramblings".
Ms Fernandez then appeared to show Mr Cameron a letter which BBC political editor Nick Robinson said outlined UN Resolution 40/21 of November 1985, which requests both governments to negotiate a "peaceful" resolution to the Falklands dispute. At that point, Mr Cameron walked away.
I suspect that Cameron knew that Kirchner was planning on trying to corner him at some point during the summit and by confronting her when she wasn't expecting it he caught her off guard and pissed on her chips. "We should believe in self determination and act as democrats here in the G20."

I'm just wondering why Sky news and LBC were reporting it differentlyhttp://news.sky.com/home/video/world-news/video/16...

Everyone knows the Argie economy is up the Swanny and the Falklands business is a diversion for home consumption, just history repeating itself. She is trying to mobilise World opnion, which is worrying.
Cameron - I wouldn't trust him an inch.
Kirschner - Face like a slate-layer's nailbag and cannot string two words together.

Just nuke buenos aires - we've got the old trident to use up now anyway, it would be a shame to waste it.
Like that old tin of beans at the back of my cupboard?
It would be funny to see what the response would be if CMD just stood up and said "you even mention those fking islands again and we'll nuke you to oblivion. Got it?
Mind you... Nah, forget it

"After years of acting as a colonial power they have forgotten that they are responsible for the existence of colonialism, and that it is countries like Argentina that defeated most of the colonial projects in the world," said Mr Timmerman."
The Argentinians have clearly forgotten they are the colonists living on someone else's land not us, or is 'Timmerman' a common amerindian name?

A lot of these names seem to have German roots... Didn't a lot of Germans scarper to South America in 1945? The Argentinians have clearly forgotten they are the colonists living on someone else's land not us, or is 'Timmerman' a common amerindian name?

Probably closest to the truth. The thick envelope she was carrying around apparently had "Malvinas" written on it in black felt tip so it was fairly obvious what was about to go down. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
