If politicians get involved in church matters (i.e. gay marriage) I can't see how anyone can complain when the Bishops get involved with politics.

Anyway, back on topic. I guess he's allowed an opinion just like the rest of us. However, this is a man who actually believes that 2012 years ago, a bloke in the Middle East died, and a few days later, CAME BACK TO LIFE. And furthermore, this bloke, Jesus H Christ (probably Spanish?), was the living embodiment of a Supreme Being, the creator of all life if you like.

He's an idiot, or at best, completely deranged. nuts

As religious organisations aren't being forced to marry same sex couples, its the churches butting their noses into CIVIL situations that don't concern them.

I suggest you read the same sex marriage proposals.

He quite possible does, as it just wouldn't be the done thing for a politician to say it's all a load of baloney.

The whiskery old socialist in a frock must blush when drawing his salary / stipend given he's actually working as the 254th Labour MP.

Can't someone just put him back in his box properly this time.

If he wanted to be a politician, then he should have fking well pursued that career. Isn't he supposed to be unbiased in his political stance (sort of like The Queen?), when he is so clearly lefty.

What a twunt.

I don't remember him having too much to say when the money was being handed out left right and centre. Is it christian to simply give people money?

His stipend is about £70k a year, which isn't a huge amount when you think he's the spiritual head of the 3rd largest organised religious group in the world.
