Taking aside that a product should be as described, what actually happens to a muslim that eats pork?

Do they spontaneously combust as a result of an act of god or as it's an Islam law thing are we all expected to join in with stoning them? biggrin

Wondering how long until we start getting animal DNA in food labelled as vegetarian?

I know a number of chefs who regularly offer vegetarian options ...which all come with a beef stock gravy..

Yes, we can't have and talk or objection to halal products. Quick, brand it as racist talk and get it closed down.

Under Islamic law, Muslims are strictly forbidden to eat pork.
I thought they were strictly forbidden to KNOWINGLY eat pork. Therefore, there isn't a problem, unless fanatical crackpots want to make a fuss.
So Mohammed predicted the existence of mystery meat? Maybe there is something to this religion stuff.

The sausages were from St Mary's Bryanston Square, a Church of England school, Westminster Council confirmed.
confused Why is a C of E school serving halal meat anyway ?
perhaps, because unlike Catholic schools significant numbers of the CoE schools are often either 'controlled' ( i.e. it used to be the Church relinquishes a degree of control for further support from the LEA ) or don't have faith based entry requirements

the local authority shouldnt have to offer specialist diets unless there are medical grounds.
Personal religeous beliefs shouldnt cost the local authority... hence my take a feckin packed lunch comment!

no doubt they are forced too as they are too scared to be labelled racist if they argue..

Hmm, is the compy ball starting to roll for our minority citizens.
That started rolling at the very beggining of the whole horsemeat thing.
The horsemeat issue originally affected non-halal products (Value Burgers, Lasagne etc.) I'm not sure why Muslims would have been lodging compensation claims. Any links you could point me to?

This lot couldn't get on the local news quick enough to spout off and demand the rest of the country should bow down in most hummble apologies having shown such disrespect to their religious feelings
The link you posted doesn't make any mention of "bowing down", "apologising", or "disrespect". Are you just making stuff up?

(with a view to sticking in a claim of course).
Of course. rolleyes
The link is reference to the group who featured in a local BBC news feature a couple of months ago. Head of said group was having a moan about it & demanding unreserved apologies from everyone else.
Of course, like most on PH I am natuarally an avid Daily Mail reader, racist & bigot. You on the other hand have found an oppotunity to demonstrate your superior enlightened intellect; a true font of peace love & tollerance to all. It's been a pleasure & an indeed an honour to receive your put down. Now, if you don't mind I've far more important things to be getting on with.byebye

Maybe he just foresaw a situation whereby you eat something you think is one thing when in fact it's another. Hardly supernatural powers required.

The issue of pork in halal food is recent (as in the last few days) - so IF he was demanding unreserved apologies what was he upset about? Sorry if this sounds harsh but I think you're talking bo11ocks (probably containing pork)

O/T there is a separate dispute going on between LCM and LCC. There's an element of politics and backhanders involved. However it's got nothing to do with the pork issue, apart from giving LCM the opportunity to say I told you so.

FFS banghead

They never used to (in my day) and still don't have to if they don't want to. It's purely a commercial decision to maximise their income.

Thing is, nobody's claimed (or suggested claiming) compensation.

Mojocvh asked a question if it would start a compensation culture type claim, 7Mike refered to a local news report without any links or proof of such.
