Obviously, hope that he and his family are ok, and sort out whatever it is.

I saw him a few years ago in Manchester. It was dull and pretty unfunny in most parts. 4 of our party of 6 had micro snoozes during the performance.
He wasn't performing. Just out for a meal with his family?
Well, it probably would have been funnier, but no, this was in Machester Arena, and he was on the stage, so assuming me and the other 50,000 odd people attending were there to see him be funny.
I know what happened there; you were at Old Trafford watching Man U not at the Manchester Arena.

It’s the only explanation, the Arena only has a capacity of 21000.......

I've never found him funny, when I heard the news I thought maybe he’d been shown one of his live shows on dvd and decided to pack in.

Many do find him funny though. I’m sure many find humour you like unfunny.

I only find him funny in Car Share.

However this was about to be the biggest selling stand up show in history. A hell of a lot of people must find him funny.

Various reports are saying he will lose £10-40m from the cancelled tour. Must be serious to forego that kind of dough.

That sounds more like Joe Beazley and Cheeky Monkey.

Depends how much money you have. Would you lose £20,000 to look after a terminally ill wife ( i am in no way speculating this is the issue) as £20k to you might be £20m to him.

Bit weird.
He's cancelled all his live work for the next two years.
If it was an illness or ailment of a loved one that could be accommodated with the later dates still going ahead.
The fact he's binned everything says to me there's more to this than meets the eye - it would have to be a life-changing event and even a bereavement wouldn't put a top level performer out of action for two years.
I wonder if he's suffered some kind of borderline break-down where he simply can't face going on stage again.

We had tickets to go so yes sad to miss out but putting family first in this day and age is admirable especially with the money involved.

As for him not being funny, that is what comedy does it sorts people out into groups. One group will like edgy foul mouthed comedians who like Jimmy Carr shock, but many like Kay and Macintyre as they are observational and easy to watch without cringing occasionally.

Being Northern, I like many other can see the northern humour as we had parents just like those people he talks about.

Whatever his issues to deal with, he has no chance keeping the press away as they will sell their soul for a scoop

Not surprised. Rumours that he's not very well have been swirling for weeks.
Can you post some links. What's wrong with him?
You're new here, aren't you? Yipper's basic function on here is to post unsubstantiated bullst and bugger off when asked for proof.

Even Yipper's gravestone will have all the wrong info on it.

And potentially wrong... Thought his tour earnings were going to a cancer charity...

He was also doing an ‘intimate’ gig in Blackpool for Children in Need. 200 odd tickets sold for a few hundred grand. No idea how that works with refunds.

Anyway on the refunds question, there are some horror stories going the rounds about people who have paid way over odds from resellers and now facing refund of the face value only. Having never ever bought from resellers on principle, is that how it works?
