One statistic we can so far rely on, no PistonHeads posters have got it. Therefore posting on PistonHeads is a preventative measure. We’re all saved!

I’d love to kid if the a Pope has it. Because if he has, then he’s the very definition of a super-spreader.

I'm as good as dead, NZ not on your list ( I survived Swine flu- experience was similar to a poster some pages back). Biggest impact here, thus far, is economic.

...Newly-retired doctors and nurses could be asked to return to the NHS as part of a UK "battle plan" to combat a possible further spread of coronavirus...

Yes i can see the most at risk group of people (generally older) coming out of gold plated retirement to treat the sick.

Do the people who think this up say it out loud before they announce it?

I know there will be some who do it for the greater good but would you?

Interesting that Japan is so high, anyone got any ideas why? I believe they have one of the highest life expediencies so are most of those beds full of geriatrics?

Funny how peoples behaviour has already changed. I was in Coventry yesterday and had to use the toilets, every person was washing their hands, every soap dispenser but one had run out already, 11.00am. I did mention this to a security guy when I came out who said he would ask someone what to do.

I guess they would normally fill tow or three times a day but that shows just how many dirty B4stards are out there normally

People need to stop travelling and being fastidious with hygiene. It’s probably too late now, but such actions will help slow the spread. The poster who says people won’t self isolate due to work pressure ha sit spot on.
Economic consequences, of course, but they have already arrived and will continue.

We’d be better in the long run to just get on with it.

Once it gets into schools, if a teacher or child pass away, it will be bedlam. Govt need to take the initiative. Now. That will take the stigma away.
The west has sleepwalked into this

Or you could just carry your own hand gel, the sinks will be swimming in bacteria.

When I was 13, virtually our whole school had the flu. So did the rest of the country. We stayed in bed and took lots of aspirin and drink. The country survived. No one panicked.

Well it could cut the cost of their pensions I suppose.

They would have to be paid as well as get their pensions.

They might even have to be paid a lot if enough didn’t Fancy it.

But we're in the 21st century now: global media, social media and anyone can spread stories about virus spread faster than the virus can catch up.

Douglas Adams had it right: Don't Panic.

Given the current situation in Washington State and an acceptance that the virus has likely been merrily doing its thing in the area for weeks, but no one has noticed etc., as mentioned previously, is it not possible the virus is already here, established and widespread? i’ve been feeling pretty stty for the past few days with aches, pains and a sore throat.... It’s not a cold. i’ve asked my wife if i can self isolate in my man cave for a week or two with my car and wine, but this request was declined on the basis that we have a 3 year old and a 1 year old to look after whilst she does shifts, as well as having to go to work to pay bills.

I think a lot of people will get a bit of a shock over the next period, but more importantly it may be Govt as well at this rate!
