Nothing that a tub of paint thinners and a brush couldn't fix.
Looks like TFL agreed.

A TFL spokesman said:
In this particular case, the work was removed some days ago due to our strict anti-graffiti policy.

This. His “art” is little better than the daubings of a hormonal teenager.

Its much better than 'tags' and normally on the money, like a newspaper satirical cartoonist.

I appreciate it and find it interesting. So there you go.

I thought a lot of his stuff was just staff sent out with templates? At least this one looks like he did it, or at least his 4 year old did..

There was none of this 40 yrs ago. None.

Just look at all the blight for miles on every bit of infrastructure on the railways, it's everywhere.

If ever proof was needed that if you don't nip it in the bud, this has to be a perfect demonstration of it.

It should have been cracked down on from the outset.

Just remove all wksy's political rubbish and jail him for criminal damage.

Art no matter how it is percieved should be in a gallery so that those who wish to see it can do so and those who don't wnat to don't have to.

Europe is under siege from all this graffiti.

Presumably this was done with the permission of the carriage owners?
I don't bet but I'd put money on TFL being in on it. The way it's filmed, edited and the access afforded. If anyone else turned up at a tube station wearing that gear and kit, they'd not make it to the platform.
THIS^^^ 100 per cent.
How LONG would that have taken so-called Banksy to do all that without anyone in on it?
Probably paid well too.

TfL said it 'appreciated the sentiment of encouraging people to wear face coverings.'
and then
'We'd like to offer Banksy the chance to do a new version of his message for our customers in a suitable location.'

Yeah, TfL. ALL OVER IT!

Glad I don't live in the capital nor need to use the trains.

Ain't that the thing with art, ya likes what ya likes and even you might not really know why. I was kinda oblivious to Banksy but I picked up a book of his work a few months ago and was really impressed with the visual impact and message of a lot of it, and the fact real life is his subject and his easel.

I don't know much about art, but I knows what I likes!!

I dont feel besieged. When I see good graffiti I feel privileged.

That looks wk.

Some of his work is absolutely class though, you've got to give him that.

I can't imagine TfL sanctioning anything which promoted graffiti. Also I reckon the paints for this were water-soluble because they would *not* be happy at anything which couldn't be easily removed.

Rinsing the middle class of all their worth??

Not following that. How so?

Because someone that like what he does decides to pay handsomely for it?
Which in honesty is only a few people, not exaclty 'the middle class'
Or is there some other reason? Genuine question.

Graffiti and vandalism. When he is finally unmasked I hope they send him the bill for the cleanup. There is something very arrogant in suggesting a) that you are entitled to vandalise public transport and b) that your personal ‘wear a mask’ message is useful or needed.

I like his work, some don’t. Isn’t that what art is? To me Mark Rothko was a con artist peddling Dulux daubed on a big canvas as art. It seems talentless and a mess to me, other people think he was a genius. Who is right?

Obviously it’s me thumbup

Artwork or vandalism? I'll say from the outset that I don't like graffiti as a general rule, BUT some of the stuff I've seen Banksy produce is clearly waaaaay more than just illiterate daubing.

This time however, I'm not convinced. I think it looks a mess and I wish he hadn't ruined a tube carriage in this way. Am I wrong to think this?

Did you watch the video or just look at the still?

Not convinced the tag's that great, nor that this sort of thing should be encouraged. But thought the full bits were interesting.
