Shane Warne
@ShaneWarne
Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls. Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate❤️

To be fair he shagged Liz Hurley so he did have his fair share of luck!

So sad reading this. Only saw a tribute from him earlier on to Rod Marsh who died from a heart attack yesterday.

52 really is no age at all to anyone, let alone an elite athlete. cry
Crumbs!

I'm 52 this year. I think that I've used the phrase "over my dead body" for the last time after seeing this news. I was no cricket fan, in fact probably the opposite. But there surely can't be anyone who was unaware of Shane Warne and his reputation both on and off the cricket pitch? As others have said, probably one of the last people I'd have expected to "pop off" at what is, under any circumstances, a short life (albeit one which appears to have been well lived)...

Can`t believe it. The best cricketer I ever saw play and always loved him on commentary.

Gone way, way too young and I`m gutted.

RIP.

Just saw this.. unbeleivable, and on the same day as Rodney Marsh.
Best spinner of his generation, if not ever.

No age but he absolutely lived - RIP.
You can take some comfort in that can't you - 52 years, but oh what a 52 years.

Saw this earlier. Shocked. (As another posted noted, I'm also 52 this year. Makes you think!).

Can't believe it. I'm merely a casual cricket fan, but there is no doubting the impact Warney had when he put in an appearance. 52 is no age, but he definitely packed those years full. May your crease be flat and your bails straight Mr Warne.

Dickie Bird looked like he was having a hard time believing what he saw.

Same age as me, pretty sobering.

RIP Warney - absolutely hated him when he played against England but you had to admire his ability at the same time. Absolutely ruined watching the Ashes tours throughout the 90's. May have to raise a tinny in tribute tonight.
