Yep let’s just trust MSM.
On the whole that actually is a much better idea than trusting Darren on Facebook. The 'MSM' is just a bunch of legacy outlets that have to conform to certain standards. Darren of Facebook doesn't have to do that, and so can be a lot more free and easy with the 'facts'.
True. I like how you note ‘legacy’. I don’t use Facebook myself but can imagine the amount of Darren’s and Karen’s.
Many people now seem to be satisfied to exist in a post-truth world where they make up a reality that suits them if they don't like something. Take a look at the United States, a significant percentage of the population is living in a total fantasyland where they believe the last election there was fixed, despite zero credible evidence. If you think that over for a while, it is genuinely worrying. These people are allowed to drive cars, vote, bring up children, etc.

The worry is people that can’t see past MSM. I recommend watching the hilarious Mike Myers of Austin Powers new series The Pentaverate biggrin

People are being led by the nose to "wonder".

If only most people would actually think for more than 5secs about how two incomparable projects are being compared.
I know. People that work in educated white collar jobs get paid 100x more than everyone else does.
Complaining can bite you on the ass. I dont fancy being quoted £10 million for some tarmacing on my drive.

Perhaps you need to watch more carefully it's all about taking the piss out of the kind of people who "do their own research".

Thing is, media is a bit like medicine.

You know what they call alternative medicine that works? Medicine.

You know what they call media that is well-researched, verifiable, and subject to regulation? Main-stream.

Over 500 million COVID tests to date. That's where the bulk of the money has gone. The crappy meme obviously wants you to wonder how we've spaffed that much money on a st app and some call centres but the truth is we haven't.

More or less on BBC Radio 4 debunked this whole subject months ago.

The "test" element was the expensive bit, given that 511 million tests were conducted that works out as £72 per test which given all the testing centres, kits and analysis equipment that needed to be bought and staffed at short notice while every other nation also wanted to buy precisely the same stuff is hardly surprising.

Indeed. And it's the meme, which isn't true.

Do want to point to the deliberate lies that they push?

Are you that naïve?

Jab your children etc etc..
Best not to accuse other people of naivety if you're going to follow it up immediately with a sentence like that. Are you really so naïve that you think the BBC told people to go out and get their children vaccinated? They reported the views of the government and opposition politicians, they reported the views of doctors, epidemiologists and medical researchers. When they interviewed these people they challenged them with the opposing views they had heard from others. Their reporting made it abundantly clear that this wasn't a simple decision and that there were many competing rights and responsibilities to balance. They certainly didn't try to draw a conclusion and they certainly didn't try to tell people what to do.

So shall we compare the BBC new's collective intellectual honesty to yours?

The people who are most likely to promote that stty meme are also the ones receiving the extra £10/wk (£1000/yr) bennies increase. I wonder what that cost?

Do you know what "propaganda" actually means? If you do and you really think I'm deliberately trying to spin you an exaggerated or false narrative, you're just demonstrating your lack of understanding and judgement yet again. And telling me to go talk somewhere else? Really?? Who do you think you are to tell other people to be quiet or go elsewhere? As well as demonstrating a paranoid lack of critical thinking skills, you're also arrogant and rude. If you find yourself in opposition to the mainstream, you need to at least consider that it might not be the rest of the world that is wrong; it might be you.

I apologise if I came across rude it was not my intention and I welcome free speech. My point really is for 2 years the bbc frightened the whole country. Personally I can’t stomach listening to them anymore but you are quite welcome to watch them and go with whatever narrative they are pushing now.

The "narrative", otherwise known as "the news"?

Headline shock: there was a pandemic. It killed a lot of people.

As others have said, if you're finding everything about mainstream media a problem, then the problem probably isn't mainstream media.

I mentally file this approach with the flat earthers, freemen of the land, and other assorted groups who are the "only" ones smart enough to figure it out - according to them at least.

Anyway,

Whilst the meme headline numbers look stark, when you consider the scope of covid testing that took place daily across the entire UK for well over a year, it probably would make sense it cost more than a railway track being built up the middle of the country.

Crossrail, not HS2. HS2 needs loads of expensive land, Crossrail was just some blokes digging holes.

People will wonder wont they.
A 15 year project is 15 years of wages and digger hire etc so it does sound cheap.
Covid Telephone helpline (track and trace) and testing centres (some car park somewhere) whatever the staffing is a few months work.
And remember the army. They are already being paid.
Yes. You did 'wonder' and started pretty much an identical thread.

Where you were educated, comprehensively. Yet have decided to ignore all that.
