Turned off in settings on my phone.
Stupid idea put in place by stupid people who think that they are "doing something".
Utterly unnecessary and all part of the pushed narrative that the government will keep us safe.
I wouldn't trust them to run a bath, I certainly don't trust them to not eventually turn this into a system to control us more.

Are they so out of touch that they don't realise the contempt in which their actions & interference are held?

Presumably alerts would be localised? Would that mean you would need to have location access activated also?
I think it goes to all cell towers in a ward / area so just needs your phone to be connected to those towers ie not location based in terms of looking at your phone.CoolHands said:

Sounds logical - although there are places along the south coast that pick up French phone signals, so it could all get rather confusing....Biker 1 said:

ts. If it was me with regard to the 4 minute warning I would play White Riot by the Clash twice and still have 4 seconds left.

It would be brilliant if your phone made an air raid siren noise when one of these alerts land, and then started playing Two Tribes by Frankie goes to Hollywood (which has the air raid siren intro built in). When the alert status when back to normal, they could inform us by playing Relax by travelling Frankie & co. too.
Not sure about this; I once had an air raid siren set as my alarm noise, but I rarely ever used my alarms so I forgot about it. Then one day I set one as a reminder to do something, and it went off, on full volume, while I was on a busy dual carriageway. I can't stress enough that I completely forgot I had done it. I nearly crashed the car
