You must be incredibly naive if you really think that's why she got it.

I wonder what people with honours for making genuine contributions to society make of Johnson handing them out to his hairdresser, intern and village idiots like Rees Mogg.

No, not that sort of younger female. rolleyes
Do you ever feel like you’ve been mugged off by the conservatives when your unbridled love for them
makes you have to say silly things?

I'm not sure he has the requisite level of self awareness to realise if I'm honest.

I’d say it’s absolutely certain that he hasn’t.

Instead just labelling anyone who sees Johnson for what he is as a ‘frother’.

Something which I think has been missed but does anyone want to guess why Boris gave a life peerage to a 29 year old blonde aide who only worked with him for less than 3 years, even then largely on a part time basis? In doing so she becomes the youngest ever life peer. She also has the dubious honour of being a special advisor to Liz Truss during her premiership, the same premiership which cost the country billions of Pounds and resulted in her becoming the shortest lived PM in history.

With that sort of background and life experience no wonder she is entitled to shape the country's laws for decades to come....

If I was a betting man I would guess it had more to do with her being young and pretty than any public service she has achieved. Shows just how flippantly Boris regarded the Lords and the institutions this country is built on.

I think it has been discussed. Didn’t someone say she was her daughter?
Old enough to be his daughter more like.

Same thing with Trump, you’ve got to consider how some people continue to fall for the same three card trick, they’re not stupid by any means, but maybe it’s a factor of ‘how’ people think as opposed to ‘what’ they think. I find it fascinating, but it’s definitely the start of a journey in the wrong direction.

So you think she is there on merit?

Just waiting for 86 to chip in with a 'Hey what about Starmer' to start the thread off with a 'blue rosette on a pot plant' royal flush.

I'd forgotten about that regularly expressed pearl of wisdom.
And it was entirely accurate.
When he then discarded that team for the 2nd rate numpties that followed the Carrie Coup, the No 10 operation turned rapidly to utter rubbish. Indeed - a number of posts described this in quite some detail at the time.

So he surrounded himself with a terrible team, and handed many of them honours.

So apparently people have worked out the Johnson article in the Daily Mail was written by ChatGPT.

In which case it's likely to be more factually accurate.

For about 2 years some people have been saying "Give it time, the Tories might turn it around". But it just seems to get worse.

That they were a) brazen and b) dumb enough, to actually film themselves breaking rules and mocking them, says everything about the current government.

…..and still people will defend them

Pretty funny in a totally predictable way.

By a total coincidence the Telegraph are banging on about Sue Gray this morning and don't seem to be covering this hehe

Over the last 5 years in particular, the Telegraph really has become the paper exclusively for people who have too high an opinion of their own intellectual abilities to read The Mail. It's no wonder they're in the midst of a financial implosion.

Yeah, but they do have a nice big picture of Prince William and his lovely children too.
