yes I will vote, always do.

If you don't vote, you can't complain hehe
I don't vote and I don't complain.

Complaining does about as much good as voting.

FFS, you can vote by post. You don't even have to leave the house any more. Even if you don't want to vote for anyone just write wkERS all over it and spoil the paper. I can't imagine being so apathetic as to not even bother.

I have always voted even if, last time round in the local elections, it involved spoiling one of the voting papers.

They are probably turning in their graves at the mess we have made of it.

I've never voted and won't be doing next time either.
That's a shame. At least spoil the paper to show your view?
I could "create" another box on the ballot form and vote for PH. hehe

What's your preference? Saddam-style one-party democracy? wink

My personal view is that we have a duty to vote; as has been said, people went to war to protect that right, and I want to recognise that fact even though (living in the People's Republic of Lewisham) a vote for any non-Labour candidate is pi55ing in the wind... I heartily wish there was a "none of the above" option on the ballot paper, but the Monster Raving Loony party and other oddities effectively provide that option anyway. biggrin

I am completely disinterested in politics, so I wont waste my time even going along to the local polling station to spoil my vote.

I don't in the final analysis, a benevolent enlightened feudal system makes far more sense. Or even anarcho-capitalism.

Until that day comes however, its the best we've got.

I might vote raving loony this time round or spoil my ballot.

Labour are useless fkers, I don't trust the Tories and the Lib Dems don't appear to have any policies that add up. The greens talk total st and the BNP can fk right off with their thinly disguised racism. Who else is there? Respect and UKIP? Don't make me laugh.

Got to vote. Otherwise I'd have to blame myself if we have another term of GB and NuLabia, and then I'd most likely have to kill myself.

Must vote.

I think voting is a duty, not a privilege. I'll be voting, but I would like if we could have an option to vote for RON (re-open nominations). If RON won, none of the candidates would be allowed to stand second time around.

I'm sure we did this topic a couple of weeks ago.

As I said in that thread:

"I don't support parliamentary democracies and a low turn out helps (very, very slightly) to undermine their legitimacy.

Give me referendums for all significant issues and devolve power to local organisations for less significant problems and I will support the system (well if I can't have an Anarcho-capitalism system).

The idea that one individual would represent all my views is far fetched, that they could represent accurately the full range of views in their constituency is beyond belief. Then you have the problem of party politics, does your elected representative put forward your views and concerns to the best of his ability or of the party he's a of member? Why exactly do we have political parties?"

Definatly going to be voting. Will be my first time voting in a General Election, voted in locals last year. I think its awful that the turn-out is so low. It's incredibly annoying when people are opinionated but don't actually vote. We live in a "democracy" we are able to vote, I guess it's just taken for granted though.
