Only if you want to serve a corrupt, self-serving champagne socialist whose only reason for introducing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act was to satisfy his rich friends.

Torrent it.

Or, as I said, wait till it's remaindered. It 'will' be!
Anybody, and I mean anybody, who pays 25 quid for just over 500 pages of his garble on cheap bookwove is mad. That's why it's half price BEFORE publication on amazon, etc.

Even worse, in September, comes Bliar's book (again 25 quid retail but advance orders even at this point are at half price!) 'A Journey'.
Now, imo, you should buy this. Then organise a mass 'burning' of the book in every town and city in this landbiggrin

Presumably he has used his autobiography to explain where he got the cash to pay for his Regant's Park house, £24k Patek Phillipp and the rest.

Interesting reading:

Yesterday, in an interview to promote his memoirs, Lord Mandelson defended himself against the charge that he was too keen on the company of rich people.

Do you know what I say to that? Good for me. I mean, I'm not going to be governed by Labour Party political correctness about who I should meet or talk to or where I should spend my time.
Quite, I mean you're not a pleb are you? Such rules only apply to those who have to endure the insane polices your busted party constantly trot out.

I think the Labour spin machine is trying to get all that out in the open now. So anything said in this memoir and the next will not damage the party.

I imagine all this book will do is confirm what a bunch of snakes he and the rest of Nu Labour are.

But what really gets on my tits is the 'jokey' light hearted way this book is being advertised, as if the last 13 years was all just a big joke.

There is nothing funny about the state they've left this country in, and in my opinion he should be apologising to the people on behalf of his party !!

Personally, I think it should be pulped. And it could well be as there is sometimes more money in pulping than remaindering.
61 million books were returned to UK publishers last year. I didn't get one returned but then I'm at the smaller end of the scale and I know what I'm doing!
If the publisher has to give a royalty to the author for each book sold, then it's often cheaper for them to pulp them rather than pay out more royalties.

If you must read this I think you should feel morally obliged to steal it rather than further fill his pockets.

He's waited 'til Gordon was out of the way, but no doubt there will be plenty kept secret still.

I hope it goes the way of Alan Partridge's book, and he watches the unsold self serving dross pulped.

I've been following the serialisation in the Times this week. It is thoroughly riviting stuff and really goes to show the hatered between B Liar and Winky.

It also demonstrates very well the duplicitious, backstabing nature one has to have to suceed in politices.

I will however, not be buying the book. Mandelson is discraced (twice sacked) former member of the cabinet and an utter snake. I will not be contributing to his retirement fund.

Someone doesn't like it;

"Sorry, Peter Mandelson, but I'm afraid your memory is playing tricks
Lord Mandelson could have done worse than ask to see my diaries of the time, writes Alastair Campbell."

You know I have to admit a sneaking admiration for Mandelson.

He's a st who oozes slime and poison but I can't help but think his book will be a fascinating read - certainly the snippets so far suggest it will be.

Uh? Not if a book is sold at below production cost, no royalty is payable.
They pulp simply because the title becomes unsaleable - nobody wants it, even in a bargain shop! - they have printed far too large a number for a given market.

I'm looking forward to reading it.

Some of the best memoirs have been from people I really can't stand.
Oh my god, does that means you'll be buying this as well?

If Mandleson's the Prince of Darkness, who is Blair?

It's some scary cover on his autobiography, out in a couple months.

Jeez, doesn't he just give you the creeps.

No I don't want to read Pinkys Bio, when the Brains is on sale.
