So a careless and seemingly casual email from some guy can cause turmoil in the financial markets????

What an absolutely ridiculous system!!! No wonder the financial markets are in the hopeless state they're in. rolleyes

The system is people. If people crap themselves after reading someones opinion and sell shares what are you gonna do? Ban opinions?

You can shift prices in Athens with less flow than it would take to move a penny share on AIM.

The problem is that it would only take one pension fund manager to reduce their exposure in London to the Greek banking sector because he or his team will be thin on the ground over the next ten days as will flow on the LSE to cause such a drop.

Such news out of Citi may act as a catalyst for any of the managers who are already spending every day bracing to have to bail out of Athens should it default.

fk em. didnt some greek bloke do us over 20 years ago taking billions out of us in some sought of currency deal and taking it all to greece?

ps that was a completely ignorant view as I quite clearly know nothing.

The country has spent 50% of it's time (since independance) in default. The real 'mystery' is why this is news to anyone?
