She's more or less dead anyway so why not just bury what's left of her now?
Any crossroads at midnight will do, as long as someone's got the stake, the garlic, and the lead coffin with the crucifix on the lid. And that should be us safe from her for another 1000 years.
Lets beatify Gordon & Tony while were at it, ehAny crossroads at midnight will do, as long as someone's got the stake, the garlic, and the lead coffin with the crucifix on the lid. And that should be us safe from her for another 1000 years.

It would be fairly tasteless to turn a funeral into a political statement. I think history looks on Thatcher kindly. I think Scargill, and their ilk need to be the ones who should bear the brunt.
+1I'd go as far to say that without Thatcher, you'd probably not be writing your posts to this website in the world's fifth biggest economy.
Her achievements are to too complex and too big for many who didn't like her every to admit.
I’d give her a state funeral, it’s the least she deserves and I’d make the likes of Bob Crow work all day at their flat rate of pay.

I vaguely remember reading that she wanted some type of maritime burial...!
Wanted? She is not gone yet!Does anyone else think this is a bit morbid to be discussing it aboot someone who is still around if not kicking?
There are as many that hate her as love her. I hope there isn't any nastiness. A nice private one at Westminster as said above might be best.

Once she is dead folk might stop voting against her but I doubt it.
You seem to be insinuating that comrades who vote Labour may be hard of thinking...?Paul Dishman said:

let people not forget that many of the collieries, and other industries could well have continued, if it wasn't for the strikes. Skargill, in my opinion, is one of the greasiest, manipulative, and vicious men ever to poke his head into politics. It is HE that should bear the brunt of the countries anger, not Maggie.
Irrespective of the truth it is seen up North that Mrs Thatcher wanted to close all the pits and the Union wanted to keep them open. Mrs Thatcher, the police and strike breakers are still massively hated here.I know of two families here, 1) one brother doesn't speak to the other (strike breaker). 2) father doesn't speak to son (policeman).

Churchill united the nation.
Far from it.The 'everyone loved Churchill' is a travesty of the truth. The first chance the population got they voted him out. My maternal grandmother hated the man.
In my area, the east London, the general feeling was that he made too many tactical errors to be a great wartime leader. Even my father, who was a grudging supporter of the man, accepted that he cocked some things up spectacularly.
The revisionist historian after the war were limited as to what they could write about a man who was touted as leading the defence of the realm. The myths have stayed although there are a number of histories out there now which do not follow the 'come the time' bit and look at Churchill's history.
Propaganda put out that everyone was behind Churchill but some had knives in their hands. Whether he was a brilliant and effective wartime leader is open to debate - I'd certainly support effective overall - but what is true is that he did not unite the nation.

Sound like a Terry Pratchett novel.
